Your thoughts about War Exorcist?

So whenever this card was revealed, I remember a lot of split opinions. Some said this card was super op, even meta defining(i believe we had info like this on @thematsjo polls), others said it was complete unplayable garbage.

I recently pulled one and put it into my lategame-ish trial brome, and it is doing wonders there. Because of the usual 1 attack minion statline of 1/3 and 1/4 and Warblade buff, there is quite the possibility of having 3 or more damaged minions on the field. It having provoke also helps protect those damaged minions.

Overall i think it is a great card that does wonders as a 2x. What do you think?

The highlight of this card for me was a Mythical Brit game I was watching and he put Aegis Barrier on War Exorcist and the Strategos Brome couldn’t crap to it. It is good card and when certain cards are nerfed or rotated(EMP and Sandswirl Reader) it will be even better.

it’s too slow for non-brome decks imo. for this to be effective you’d have to

• not be playing into a removal, especially emp
• have enough board advantage to make it survive 1 turn of battling.
• have a back-up plan if it doesn’t pan out

i’ts fun when it works, but it’s just a very risky play in a meta where it feels like 5 mana is the new 7 mana.

Pretty great card when played in the right deck. If I can the lategame you can just keep slamming War Exorcists and Ironcliffes your opponent won’t be able to do much. The effect is only usually useful if you’re already ahead on board but the stats and provoke make it good enough to run anyways. Playable but definitely not meta defining.

I’d like to try it as a lategame Healyonar wincon.

hell yeah it is, it’s practically a 7 damage per turn engine.
