Lmfao. I’m sorry that I disappeared this weekend and missed this gold
Would love to see how someone reaches this conclusion though!
Why I'm Not Salty About the Siphon Nerf: A (Dysfunctional) Suggestion Thread
My ribs are on fire. There are tools to mitigate some of the issues though. We don’t want to be overly dramatic about it. Vet needs a little bit of new life breathed into it- but isn’t so far behind the pack that we need another card like Kron. I’m actually super afraid of CPG over-compensating and giving Vet lateral improvements, when the problem is simply a matter of not having enough play. The faction needs flexible tools, not a raw power hike.
I’m just being sarcastic in my previous comment tho o.o
Which is why my ribs were on fire.
Otherwise I probably wouldn’t have replied.
Have you tried teching Rae yet? It isn’t so bad. The sentiment of this thread is still something I feel very strongly about- but if you haven’t I recommend giving Rae a whirl, because if nothing else, it can really screw with your opponent’s positioning (it cares about the nearest enemy minion, not a nearby enemy minion.) Also, ramping off of mana tiles, and body blocking for important units- not so bad.
Rae will silence vanilla minions - it’s probably even worse than siphon is right now.
It works well against Songhai though. You basically ban Songhai from summoning minions because the ones they do run really don’t wanna be dispelled.
That isn’t really the idea. Rae chain summons anything, allowing you to put a diagonal space or more between the opposing general or threat and your more important threat. Also noteworthy, Rae can be proc’d like a spell alongside Blistering Skorn, Frostbone Naga or Sunset Paragon- allowing you to pseudo-target a minion that needs to be silenced while tearing up part of your opponent’s board.
I like the idea of finding an unconventional solution that might even be conventional because we have no choice xD I don’t get the phrase “my ribs are on fire”, I take it that you found it funny??? Haha
As for the rae, I might try it out. But as it is, its still 2 cards for one , which is very bad, cause vets still have bad retention and card draw after the second wish nerf
I think it might at least be worth considering as it immediately forces your opponent to play around it and it really, REALLY messes up 'Hai, one of, if not the most difficult Vet matchup right now. The dispell means they can’t summon a minion because their only options are Chakri, Fox or 4WM, (and possibly Spelljammer) all of which are useless when dispelled. It essentially stops them from summoning minions for a turn so the dispell doesn’t negate anything they are trying to set up. In effect, it could give you a free turn to set up even more board and a Spellhai Reva that can’t kill you fast enough because she didn’t get to summon the Fox that turn, because you summoned Rae and she didn’t want it dispelled will die very quickly to a board set up by a Vetruvian.
I just want to say that with the syphon nerf, now range units literally rape us. Right now Vetruvians are the most underpower faction and with this… No words.
Woah! Totally missed this post.
I’m not sure if I agree with this per se. I don’t think it’s a “play Crossbones” level answer, or a “Vet is too weak” situation. But I would tend to agree that the blindspot to ranged minions got signficantly larger, and without positioning tools or area based removal- it’s definitely a bigger pickle than I’d like it to be. But I certainly don’t want to go too far in the other direction.
