Which do you think is the best card of each faction?

I actually agree with you on every single choice my dude

I have played Reliq Nemeton. Unfortunately my Vanar card collection is lacking and I suck at piloting the deck.

The idea is lovely but i need some lists to give me ideas

Everyone who picked Blood of Air should think carefully and reevaluate their life choices.

Dang Jay this is pretty much spot on with how I’m feeling. :+1:

Lyonar- Trinity Oath; three hp and three cards for ̶t̶h̶r̶e̶e̶ four mana.
Songhai- Phoenix Droppings
Vetruvian- Sandswirl REEEEEE
Abyssian- Sarlaac. Wait this ISN’T abyssian? Ok, Shadowdancer.
Magmar- Makantor Jesus
Vanar- ̶S̶t̶u̶p̶i̶d̶ Malicious Wisp
Neutral- ̶S̶e̶r̶p̶e̶n̶t̶i̶ Bloodtear Alchemist

Okay people, enlighten me. I dont feel like bouncing Shadowdancer, Lavaslasher, Makantor, or many other on-field or opening gambit minions. It does leave the 3/3 body, which I recognize is pretty good, but I dont want a Swirl all the time, whereas BoA fits more broadly. What am I missing here

It leaves the sand tile

Yeah, but then I get Slashed again, thats not all that cool, is it
If the tile is so good, why is Oblivion Sickle not used more often?

Because of the fact most Vetruvian removal is bad, blood of air becomes a valuable card. What sandswirl reader does is acts as a pseudo removal effective at ‘removing’ large units such as a swarmking scarab, mythron wanderer, nimbus, aymara healer, bonereaper, EMP (situational), kron, eclipse, war exorcist. This saves BoA for more important enemies. It also produces a sand tile that can generate value instantly if you play reader late. To sum it up, he’s a tempo breaker and pseudo removal for when you need to hold on to blood of air.

What? You say wasting your turn to get rid of 1 minion is no good? Blasphemy! Iz liek best tempo play

At least BoA is arguably the best point removal in the whole game.

Sandswhirl is great, sure. But BoA destroy any minion anywhere and the 2/2 dervish can trade with another minion (2 for 1) or can go face. Sandswhirl could be better tempowise, but not always and it doesnt have unlimited range. To me they are on the same level but if i have to choose one i go with BoA

Bouncing is weaker than hard-removal, but it’s close enough. While the opponent would be free to play the bounced minion again next turn, it is still removed from the board. Sandswirl also leaves a 3/3 body and a Exhuming Sands, all for just 5 mana. So even if it is pseudo-removal, it isn’t a tempo-loss. I still think BoA is a better card, however.

Honestly BoA has so much going on for it that i cant even deem it as good design. It is strong, sure, but not good. Not well made. It denies Dying Wish/Deathwatch, it destroys, it doesnt count as a summon, it can end games on its own by clearing a blocker and attacking face, it does too much too well.

Please CPG rework BoA into BoI (Iron).

Before Vet had sandswirl reader, I would fearlessly slam large minions in their face. Worst case scenario, they answer it, the board is even again, and I have initiative. Best case scenario, my big dude sticks, and I can do any number of brutal things with it.

With reader in the mix, I can’t slam big minions like that anymore. Now they get a body, and an infinite value generator in the form of a sand tile.
