Hi. Just wondering what kind of rank i should be around before i try doing gauntlet properly. i’ve done some runs but usually 0-1 wins XD
What rank should i be for gauntlet
I’m tempted to say you should be able to get yourself into silver. You need knowledge on cards, synergies and deck building in general to do it with any sort of success.
You need to know more about cards then be any type of rank. Several copies of certain cards will out right win most games. Ranged units are good here since there is far less dispell minions in this mode alot of effect minions can be played.
i am mid silver right now. im probably just terrible at gauntlet rn XD. ty anyway
thanks. that helps a lot.
There are a lot of cards that have a different power level in gauntlet.
It takes time to learn them. When I started I also finished between 0 and 3 wins for about 10 runs (ranked probably between 5 and 7).
It is important to stick with it, otherwise you’ll never get good. Ranked is not a good preparation for gauntlet.
Still mid silver is a bit low.
I guess you want to play gauntlet for the rewards and gauntlet only gets interesting once you reach 7 wins. Below that you get peanuts or pay.
Getting to gold on the other hand gives you a legendary each month. That is easier to reach.
thanks. really useful advice <3.
There is no rank requirement for Gauntlet. In fact, you could even consider Gauntlet one of the best learning tools available, even if you go 0-3 wins every run.
The reason for this is:
- You have access to ALL the cards (via draft - you might see them), no matter how big your collection is.
- You will get exposure to ALL the factions either by playing them yourself, or by playing against opponents who play them.
- You can complete quests for factions that you have almost no cards for in your collection.
- You will find yourself reacting to cards, interactions, and scenarios that you will rarely or never see in constructed play, which helps build your skill.
- You still get rewards, and due to the experience and broad faction exposure you’ll soak up in Gauntlet, you can then decide which faction(s) look most interesting and target your collection building toward them.
- If you stick with it, your skill will increase - and with that, so will your enjoyment of the game and your profit.
So unless you really dislike drafting - I highly recommend Gauntlet for learning.
P.S. I’m happy to give Gauntlet drafting or playing advice - just friend me in the game and hit me up anytime!
It depends…do you have experience with similair games? If yes, look which 3 races gaunlet offer you, try understand the mechanics of one of those classes completely and look for synergies…of course, basic knowledge of all abilities and cards are required.
I recommend watching some vodeos where people play gauntlet and learn about ‘value plays’. Loads of cards sound good on paper but are terrible (like khymera)
but they give u random factions so you might not get the faction u studied. It’s better to know overall key words and abilities.
On another note gauntlet is a expansive place to learn with it being 150gold imo
