It hits the space, therefore not targeting it directly.
It’s similar to the interaction between a Monster that cannot be targeted by spells or traps, and Mirror force/dark hole etc.

I also think magic more than duelyst. Stacks, priorities and other shizz is more priority in my brain, it just goes there first.

Ok think about it this way: forcing your opponent to sacrifice a creature with hexproof. You aren’t targeting the creature, you are targeting the player.

yep that works. Depends if the opponent has multiple creatures, they may choose in that situation
you can also sac a hexproof if a card has an ability that requires a sac (nantuko husk)
