Unearthed Prophecy - Abyssian Nekomata

You said quick,
OwO whats this?
And sorry about the imgur link guys - this sprite art was actually too big for the forums to handle
( ͔° ĶŹ ͔°)
So anything I canāt upload directly will get an imgur link, hope thatās fine
I can think of three uses for this minion:
-
Use this as a draw engine in decks running many dying wish minions. Many lategame and swarm Lilith decks already run lots of dying wish minions, so this can serve as draw in those decks. Thatās not even mentioning specially designed lurking fear / resurrection decks. However, the ability to draw 2 upon death does not seem good enough to justify a 4/2 stat line for 4 mana.
-
Use this to fetch specific dying wishes. You can use these minions to help draw things like Vorpeal Reaver, Klaxon, Reaper of the 9 moons, or possible new dying wish minions that are key to some lategame scenario. However, since this can draw more copies of itself, the fetching effect is clumsy and slow.
-
4 colour cat tribal when multi-faction decks return. This minion marks Abyssianās enters to the club of factions that have cats! Now all thatās left is Vanar and Magmar!
Strong card, but not OP, it enables nice deck building options and itās not obvious how to use it properly. Likely a nice addition to the game, though I believe most Abyssian minions as of now are too fragile to allow one to reliably hit late game. Letās wait for the next ones!
Wait to see the other dying wish cards that will come with this expansion
Really like this card, itās a great addition to a lurking fear archetype! However, itās similar to un7 in the sense that it can draw itself, yet I believe it can make it easier to use un7 in such dying wish decks. Also slightly good synergy with blood echoes if you want to refill your hand (ą¹ć»Ļ-)ļ½
Look, itās a void hunter for one extra mana who draws one extra card.
Not exactly.
Itās a 4 Mana draw two 9Moons or two Reavers.
Iād say: This would be a strong card even with a 1/1 body.
Not fast enough, if they donāt add more relevant DW minions, this one is just gonna be an awful tempo loss :ā(
In terms of power, I think this card provides the perfect level of strength to an underused archetype. Not OP, but not too underwhelming.
Itās better than using a whole turn to refill your hand with Rite of the Undervault. And when you consider that Lurking Fear decks are meant to drop huge bodies more quickly than other decks, I think the fragile body is warranted.
Definitely something Iād replace earlygame. I see this as a lategame card despite it being 4 mana. Itās meant to be played for 2-3 mana in the lategame to help you keep up pressure when your hand is getting low, NOT on turn 2 using up your entire turn for a lackluster body when you still have other options in-hand.
Iāll be curious to see how strong Big Abyss is when more spoilers are revealed!
