Unearthed Prophecy - Abyssian Doom

These new cards all make me think of some overarching story.

For example, in a battle royal, last general standing match, the Abyssian general casts this on the other generals. The Vanar general dies despite Matron Elveiti’s best efforts, but the Magmar general just manages to hold on to life due to eternal heart.

The Lyonar general passes the torch to Zir after a heartfelt speech. The Vetruvian general is Sajj, and isn’t alive to begin with (is she?), and the Songhai general died a long time ago due to nerfs.

Abyssian the new undisputed king of late game. This isn’t fun and is just a waste of a mythic spot.

Abyss has ALWAYS been the champion of the late game. This just prevents all other factions from challenging the title in the future.

Does this have to be a card? Like it’s just boring, why not make it a board clear, like nine mana, kill everything that isn’t a general and place shadowcreep where they once stood, or maybe have it fill your entire side of the board with shadowcreep while summoning those monsters that variax gives on preexisting ones. Really I’ed rather see this just be changed to something else, anything else. Please?

Thats actually a pretty good idea. I always wondered why circle of dessication was a vet card instead of an abyss card. Just +1 mana for the shadow creep and dying wish synergy with abyss and weve got a decent card.

Several questions though

  1. Is it dispellable?
  2. Does card like Concealing Shroud stops the effect for one turn?

Not it can’t be dispelled and Concealing Shroud prevents damage not death.

That comes to the other questions

  1. Does Eternal Heart stop it?
  2. How this card interacts with Grandmaster Zir?

See the attached quote:

This would be 100% better as an artifact. Something spinecleaver-y that forces the enemy general to take damage. A The Releaser for the Opponent (with arcylite regalia mitigation), with doom.

Top reason as to why Circle is in Vet is because Abyss had enough late game stuff at the time and Obliterate was probably meant to be a one sided board clear, where as Circle was probably intended as one sided boardclear for the more underdeveloped, at least what I considered underdeveloped before this expansion, Structure Vet Archetype. What I’ed love to see happen is that the factions that didn’t have tile effects get card changes for old cards, like Circle for example, someone suggested that Exhuming Sands be spawned where the spell’s unfortunate victims once stood, making the card stronger and worth playing outside of the 1/100 Hail Mary it’s usually used for. That and to dessicate means to remove moisture from, so turning my own stuff and my opponent’s stuff into piles of dust that will spawn poop on the next turn sounds like a nice investment to me, and it’d fit the name I suppose.

Now this card on the their hand looks like the first of a batch of 9 mana spells which could mean that each faction is getting a nine mana spell, speculation of course. Though if this is anything to go by I feel as though the possible upcoming 9 mana spells are either going to be stupid and pointless or stupidly and powerful and pointlessly game breaking.

But seriously though, it feels like this is the single most boring card this expansion.

Bad card design, I don’t like instant win cards. On the bright side it is too slow to use and abyssians would have ran me over with Revenants by the time they play this so there isn’t much reason to use it.

Most boring card ever for a faction which did not need it. Meh

@ThanatosNoa said this, so… (This line was just for the 15 character - so just ignore it.)

Oh noes, I hate seeing that deck and now this one aswell.

Ok, at first I was rather disappointed by this card, as it is worse than every other abbysian late game alternative.
Let me clarify something: this card will never be seen in competitive matches and hardly will you meet enough of these Dooms to irritate you by them.

But the point I am very exited about is that this card singlehandedly creates an alternative Abbysian playstyle. This enables a deck filled with heals and provokes as well as some really odd cards sparkled in there like Emerald rejuvenator and Sunset paragon.

The fact that new card enables old ones is in my eys worth admiration.
I dislike the fact that you as an opponent dont have a reasonable counterplay to this card, because you will meet Doom Abbysian once in a bluemoon you will be surprised instead of irritated.

So overall this might be my favourite card so far.

I can see this as a alternative win condition in a arcynast deck. I think k it fits fine in duelyst as this is fast paced game 9 mana and above isn’t a short game it’s usually a game where the opponent is running away walling up and basically stalling this is a nice time limit.

Why so much hate? This card is just bad. 0 tempo play. Skipping 9 mana turn is a fucking suicide. It’s not as cancerous as it seems.

Depends on your board state if your hidding behind your blood queen spawn lady thing waiting for ur Kalenio or death killer lady thing th e sure u can play it.

I think it will shine in arcanyst decks undercosting the card ideally by SIX mana probably by three. Any lost tempo death knell will just bring you back cards and that other one will help u back up… Or is that the same card?
