Unearthed Prophecy - Abyssian Doom

That impending feeling of fear, disaster, regret? No, not regret, something worse. You can’t shake it. It just feels like… Doom

Quite the predicament, to be stressed for time. Breathe deep, think of plan - then execute

I knew just from the name that this was going to be a 9-mana death bomb!

Somehow they found a way to print a slower card than Variax!

Just play Variax instead and kill them quicker than 3 turns a turn earlier.

Warning: Tons of Profanity incoming.

WAT DAFUQ IS DIS SHIT DOING IN A FUKING BOARD GAME?!

Variax can actually take longer than this if your opponent starts running.

It would effectively not be in the game because it’s so bad.

This is fine. I don’t see this card being easy to abuse. If you can’t finish the game three turns after a 9 mana card is played (not “cheated” out), it’s acceptable to lose for it.

Also, can you dispel it? LOL
Or is there a cap on how bad a card can be?

Its not that the spell is Overpowered. Its just not fun to play against. Oh look my opponent healed the entire game, played a spell, and they won now. That might not happen that often but the idea of this card just doesn’t rub well with me, like AT ALL. I might of havve overreacted at first but I still just really don’t like the concept behind this card.

This card is hilarious! What if I sit behind a Bloodmoon priestess and laugh at you while you suffer from Doom? Sure, it might not be good, but it is an amazing meme and probably great for certain boss battles. Also, 9 mana legendary spells confirmed? I wonder that the Vetruvian one will be? Take an extra turn? That sounds original.

Also, here’s the fixed text version:

Doom
9 mana spell
After the third dawn, your opponent’s general leaves the pack for reasons of DOOM.

Ok doom and gloom for everyone it seems, but at least…

MUST OR DUST is always there for you

Rules are the same, is this the end all be all doomsday button, or just another empty threat the enemy shouts as you close the bout?

0/10 does not include Doom the game as collateral for losing match

I don’t see this being “meta”, but as a 1-of it will probably happen a lot. If it can’t be dispelled maybe the new Magmar (eternal heart?) artifact that prevents death will be a thing though- get Doom-ed wait two turns, put it on. If this card is a thing at all, I hope all factions have an answer- it would really be a shame if this card shit housed a faction just because.

YOU. ARE. DOOMED!

I love those kind of cards. Despite not beign fun for opponents and lacking counterplay, they give that feeling of “Clock is ticking!”, which I often find lacking in card games. MTG has Approach of The Second Sun, Duelyst has Doom.

At least you can’t play it from behind and just stall. You waste an entire turn to cast it, so it’s more of a " win more" card. Good against control, bad against aggro and midrange, if it can utilise the free turn.

Solid card overall.

Actually… After the initial LOL WTF is this phase, maybe there is some value in a 1-card wincon as the rest of the deck can be dedicated to just surviving. However, 9 mana do nothing(not even a body!) is simply too gamelosing for this card to see any play. Variax is a good comparison. Though, why not just play Variax in that sort of decks?

Yeah, this card have no redeeming value.

Good luck with that Spellbinder…:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Here’s the gameplan: Abjudicators, Manaforgers, this.

This card is too slow to see a lot of play I think. Control decks will just finish the game with other things instead of getting to 9 mana and then waiting 3 turns. Even variax can be ramped out with DFS. Technically you can ramp this out with abjudicator/manaforgers but I doubt that would make for a good deck. I see how this card can be appealing to control players but I just don’t like the way it just disregards everything.
