Transformation ordering questions (Why aren't you rabbits!?!)

So my opponent summoned a bunch of eggs. One of these eggs, i decided, would serve me better as a group of rabbits. I cast thumping wave on it, and went on with the rest of my turn. When I hit the end turn button, i was given quite a surprise - that thumping wave had, in fact, done nothing at all, and the egg hatched into a silithar elder just like it had always planned to. My confusion here is, why? I thought i understood the way turn order works (after 14 months of play, you’d hope I would!), so i assumed that since I was the active player in the “end of turn” phase, that the effect I had gifted to this egg would trigger first, therefore rendering it a mindless battle pet. Am i misunderstanding something important here? There isn’t any other relevant information besides that the egg came from a C burst, which i think shouldn’t matter.

I think this doesn’t make a difference to the outcome.

You have an Egg. The egg will hatch at the end of the turn to become something new.

You modify the egg to transform.

The egg hatches first before transform because before everything else it is an egg. The transform command is overwritten with the new text of a minion.

That is what I think at least. Sorry you had to learn the hard way as it isn’t really clear but that is the way things are when you mix complicated mechanics together into a computer system.

wouldn’t it be: at the end of my turn, egg turns into rabbits. egg cant hatch until start of opponent turn. my turn must end before my opponents turn begins, thusly there was no egg to hatch because it should have been a bunny.

Oh wow thats true, I guess I didn’t think about it in enough detail. Super odd interaction for sure

It needs more testing, who knows if thumping wave had higher priority on other case of egg vs thumping.
Nice info though.

My only conjecture would be that for some reason, the ‘end of turn’ and ‘beginning of turn’ happen at the same time. In this case, the egg hatches first, since its effect was present first and has priority.

Still a super weird interaction overall though. Makes no sense from a logical standpoint.

No logic in game terms. End of turn and start of turn cannot be the same thing. Either clean up the terms/wording or change the interaction of these cards.
