BUT WHAT ABOUT PADDO???

Any plans to watch another animated film?

If so, I highly recommend Wolf Children and Ponyo. Normally, I would’ve recommended something like Akira but it’s not anything like Spirited Away.

I watched Akira recently, it was unexpectedly good. In my opinion, it wasn’t anything super original but what it did/what it was going for was done very well and I just really enjoyed it overall.

That didn’t run it. If you ran anything but Reflection you were doing it wrong.

Does anyone have an image of the scene where Chihiro waves at to Lin so that she can get on the train?

Today’s inktober theme was expensive. This was the first thing that came to mind.

I’m offended you didn’t mention Laputa Castle in the Sky

Same with Howl’s Moving Castle.

And 5 Centimeters Per Second

@isbee The advice I can offer with nostalgia (of which I suffer heavily) is simply to not be sad it’s gone but be happy it happened. Everything is finite, so wanting something to last forever is setting oneself up for disappointment. If something triggers a memory (or more likely a slew of memories), sort through them, cry and then smile and move on knowing there are other amazing things happening or waiting to happen to you. Friends change, places, time, even you. There is a reason that the only constant is change. The idea is to find the bright side of all change, change for the better instead of into a dark spiral. Knowing what kind of person you are Isbee and the joy you bring to everyone on this forum on a daily basis not to mention the woman who is fortunate to call you her partner and all those you know who are lucky to call you friend means I know you’re capable of seeing the bright side of things.

May life be kind and keep throwing good things at you.

Thank you, friend. I truly appreciate your words.

I have difficulty expressing myself sometimes when I really need to get my thoughts out, so I put my feelings here many times to help clarify the way I want say them…

…and because I honestly like to hear everyone’s comments and considerations. I count myself very fortunate to ever have “met” each of my friends here.

Yeah, I get sad because I know it all ends…but I know it does feel good to hear honest adoration sometimes, so I occasionally do so here, toward you all…because no matter how far we are scattered after this place goes dark, I know there are people out there that have made positive contributions to my existence, and I think you all are definitely worth the pangs of nostalgia for the rest of my life.

Voices of a Distant Star…

Not as polished as his later works, obviously…

…but damn if it doesn’t rip your heart out…no matter how many times you see it…at least for me, anyway…

It’s definitely one of my favourites. The animation is just exquisite.

Well, I can’t name all good animated films in one post.

But you can almost mention all good eastern animated films

Every makoto shinkai or studio ghibli movie

It is weird that my favorite Japanese animated movie is neither Ghibli or Shinkai Makoto? My favourites list consist of movies like Akira, Dead Leaves, Paprika, and Ghost in the Shell. Ghibli and Shinkai Makoto are great too, but they’re tier 2 favorites.

Actually, delete that. Ponyo should be a tier 1 favorite.
