Is it just me or can you blatantly keep liking after the limit? Or are those ghost likes and should be feared?

Is it possible for a person to survive feeling opposite emotions equally…at the same time?..
Example:
Can a friend be in your life…where how you feel about them is equally “I am truly happy I know you” and “I wish we had never met”?
I seem to have a very difficult time finding a central point in many cases…
There is balance, but that kind of equalibruim is fragile at best.
Thoughts?
