The junior cycle is the first 3 years of secondry school and over it you do A LOT of work and ending with a big test which gives you a lot of feedback.

Is there an equivalent?

Is this an early assessment and evaluation sort of thing? Not sure about USA, but in Canada there are EQAO (Education Quality and Accountability Office) tests that students take in grades 3, 6, 9, and 10 which is meant to test you on everything you were taught in the years prior.

Highschool probably, it goes kindergarten for youngest, then grade school, middle school, then highschool for teens. In around the third year you take either ACT or SAT tests

Secondry is the Irish version of highschool, you’rr completely missing the question.
