HKis some kind of ultimate indie game, after playing that every other time you finish one under 20 hours you’re gonna feel that tiny encroaching disappointment of “oh, so that was it, huh…” Hyperlight, Im talking about you. Ended too soon, friend.

I have to take my stand here, Starbound is actually really bad, its just wearing a very good disguise. The truth is any crap is fun with friends. Still, some things prove more worthy than others. I bought it back yeeeears ago, the dev team for some incomprehensible reason has continuously removed all my favorite features, the walking speed is a crawl, which means all the annoying fetch quests take that long, item procedural generation means you consistently find trash items, and most importantly, combat and character customization (in terms of gameplay) are terrible to anyone who played Terraria. The only thing this offers that Terraria doesnt is cute anime sprite mods.
Just play Terraria.

Hyper Light was a good fucking game, my guy.
But yeah, I agree, it was too short.

But hey Alt Drifter is out so that’s cool I guess

I mean, I love Drifter, I love its lack of words, that resonates with me deep, but while its expansion was Alt, charge attack and dash skills didnt even change, whereas HK’s expansion(s) were a fuckton of stuff

The last one being my all time favorite, like, it was made for me, its like the devs personally sent me a message, you little pitiful mf, you keep running arena all day every day with all possible crazy and bad charm combos, what a sorry ass sight, what a dumpsterfire you’re in, here’s a gift, EVERYTHING YOU EVER WANTED, times two
I wouldnt be surprised if Godmaster alone took me 20 hours to finish

Starbound is an amazing single-player game but as you have said it has shit multiplayer.

Less replayability though.

Ai war Fleet command has great coop(but takes a long time to get into it)
Battle for wesnoth has coop campeigns
Terraria also has good coop
Divinity original sin 1+2 can be played coop throughout the whole campeign

I haven’t had time to get into Godmaster recently, because Uni.

I beat Raduant NKG though. I feel accomplished even though he’s literally the only boss I’ve fought these past 4 months

This is the meme thread, so it’s the most proper place to ask about memes, right?
I’m itching to craft Mnemovores to try building decks around them. Any reasons why I shouldn’t?

This. Probably the only reason I got into Terraria, had fellows to explain all the stuff and carry me through the game.

I can recommend Slay the Spire & Dead Cells (kinda 2 indies “trending” right now). But I can’t actually call either of them relaxing. Sunless Sea is a really cool game, but requires good knowledge of English to get all the lore, and is hardly relaxing either.
As for relaxing, I can recommend Race the Sun & Superflight, but they are casual.

Portal 2 indeed has some cool coop puzzles (as it’s a puzzle game, doh) + large amounts of user-created levels in the workshop.
Gauntlet is a coop dungeon crawler (sorta), but just as Vermintide (which is, basically, L4D), I find it dull without a company. I’d say you need at least 2 friends to play them. Final Exam is similar to them, too.

As a side note, I find Ascension to be quite fun. It’s a PvP deckbuilder, but player competition is indirect, unlike in most card games.

If you are looking for memes the only reason against trying Mnemovore is that he is very hard to use.

Abyssian has the highest Highroll potential with him with Darkfire Sacrifice and Bloodmoon Priestess, but even they can’t reliably abuse him.

Vet can get good value from him if you have lots of sand tiles, but if you manage to get so many sand tiles you would be better off just playing Kha (I’ve had many games where I completely milled my opponent with Vet and still lost to either out of hand damage or an invincible board).

Magmar has Flash and a few ways to get immediate value from him (egg minions summoning eggs triggers Mnemovore), but is overall rather meh with him.

I didn’t play him in Vanar (I really don’t like Vanar) but I think he would be below average even there. Sure they have ramp to get him out quicker but they could do the same with any other big minion. The only way you are getting an immediate effect from him is at 9 mana (Mnemovore + Gravity Well) which is a rather big mana investment even for Vanar. Otherwise you need him to live a turn so you can Ice Age/Embla them to oblivion, but to be honest, if Mnemovore survives for one turn in any faction your opponent is in trouble.

Lyonar: no synergy.

Songhai: no synergy.

In the conclusion I want to note that it is particularly fun to mill Wanderer decks since you can be sure that anything you mill is gone for good :grinning:

Here’s a couple more ideas for you to make your life miserable.

Mnemovore with Abyssian Trial.

Mnemovore in any ramp faction with Firestarter and Prismatic Illu. This one is actually in my own to do list.

BTW, that’s LIES. You play a spell deck and on 7 mana do Mnemo + Kensho + 4 Plumes. OK, I’m kidding, that’s stupid. Obviously the proper play is Abjudicator on 8 & Mnemo + Pandatentiary on 9.
