What does that mean?
The Purification Crusade
Someone, suggest some good midrange decks for me to try out with songhai. The only thing I can think of is a deck that has counters to everything like flamewreath against swarm, nightwatcher against rush and Heral/Mystic against burn.
Wanderer Reva.
Ah, but I want to play something fun, maybe something with Kaleos? Wanderer Reva just feels very RNG because your draw is so random. I was also thinking of playing the midrange list by TMD25 but I don’t have Kron for it and Kron seems really good.
Wanderer is incredibly fun, I guess you just don’t like solid, fun and interactive decks not to mention if Wanderer was RNG based it wouldn’t be one of the top decks and Wanderer Reva wad the first Wanderer deck to see success. This is midrange at it’s most pure form and it’s so fun.
Wanderer is actually incredibly consistent but goes about it differently.
Does anybody remember the Building Memes forum game? I’ve been losing motivation to play Duelyst lately and am thinking on bringing it back before I quit (if I do decide to quit that is) and I want to hear what you guys think about the idea. Any Ideas for improving the old Format are welcome.
I have a poll for people to decide which faction I should start the thread with along with the estimated amount if cards I have for each faction. Vanar isn’t included because I don’t like them I lack a good collection of Vanar cards. I have a bit of spirit to spare to craft some missing cards but I don’t have enough for a deck consisting only of Paddos, Rooks and Khymeras (none of which I own any copies of
)
- Vetruvian (almost anything)
- Songhai (almost anything)
- Magmar (moderate collection)
- Abyssian (moderate collection)
- Lyonar (Legendaries are limited to Aegis Barrier, Arclyte Regalia, Dawn’s Eye and Decimate)

I love Songhai, but it’s not a good factions for fun memes because its cards require so much synergy to work decently. I suggested Magmar instead since every card is individually solid so you can do almost anything with Magmar and be successful.
Boi, you need to relax. Not everyone likes playing wanderer.
I guess they don’t like to play interactive decks then.
Yup, some people don’t. I absolutely adore my Faultruvian and Mantrahai
That’s saying that you like uninteractive decks, doesn’t mean you dislike playing interactive decks.
Songhai also has good memes like Scazig, Storm Kage + Second Sword, Kensho Vortex ect.
It also doesn’t really matter to me which faction will get chosen for me to play first. In fact, I would like to try a meme deck for all of the factions but that may not be possible depending on how much spirit on average each deck will cost me.
I have gone up against this deck twice with burnhai and then Mr. Hai (Kaleos Midrange) and it felt pretty strong. If the next expansion gives songhai more solid minions, I can see scarzig being OP.
I actually wanted to try it, but it is too expensive and I am currently trying to save up for some spellhai and artihai decks.
Oh yes, Scarzig is very strong for something considered a meme. I played him in the past and was quite pleased with him.
i don’t really understand the concept of interactive, I just know what annoys me.
and I’m annoyed by Wanderer and how it stalls like no tomorrow. I have to admit, it’s pretty fun building a deck for it. but just… REEEEEEEEEEEEEE.
turns 8-9 mana turns stresses me out.
As a player who has been playing Wanderer for awhile now: We don’t stall LOL, what do you think is stalling?
Wanderer is incredibly interactive as it doesn’t feel unfair, it’s just strong af, it’s incredibly board based and they’re not playing solitare for 13 mins.
As someone who plays every archetype and rarely ever complains bout em, id have to say wanderer is a deck that does stall in a way, it tries to keep a board until wanderer comes out so they can steamroll you and remove anything you play pre wanderer by trading in efficient bodies. However, it also looks to accellerate its gameplan of getting wanderer out, and will never hesitate to throw a few bodies under the bus just to get one mana tile if it means earlier wanderer
Healthiness pros and cons
Pros-
Plenty of interaction
Linear gameplan
Easy to counter
Cons-
Highrolls hard
Snowballs
idk man, spamming provokes and dispelling and PF-ing everything I put on my board? That’s mostly the wanderer game I’ve been getting.
i mean sure, i was that guy who made that shidai thread, but if interactivity means erasing my board or making it useless every single turn, then interactivity makes me REEEEE.
I mean look at this: the game plan is to erase my board until Mythron happens, where he can dish out face AND keep erasing my board(maybe a minion here and there) AND keep me in a single spot with the provokes. And if you replace Mythron with Finalithy Vaath, provoke to stun, and PF-ing to Lavaslashering, this post would still make sense.
And that, my friend, is why i don’t like facing against Mythron: It feels too much like finality vaath with extra steps.
They out tempo you, it isn’t stalling as they are actively progressive their board state and answering your board so you can’t come back.
Wanderer usually wins the moment it hits the board but they usually can’t curve it out as they have to find the right turn to play it.
Usually wanderers win after it comes down by slowly outvaluing them with bigger stats. They also would love to curve into wanderer as early as possible unless there is a REALLY big threat they need to deal with immediately, as their entire deck is about getting wanderer value on shitty bodies
