The Most Broken Card In The Game: Lavaslasher | Card Interactions w/ TheTacticalGmr

Broken not necessarily meaning OP (although it is lol), but moreso how even its fight mechanic seems broken in a lot of interactions. In my opinion, and from the card text, I believe “fight” is only supposed to be “hit minion with 4 damage, subtract its attack from lavaslasher’s health”, this video was essentially made in the hopes that they will at least take a closer look at regulating the extra “perks” the fight mechanic came with, and that at least adds more counterplay options to it without changing what it was supposed to be.

It’s survived two expansions already, I don’t see it getting nerfed.

By far the most unhealthy card ever printed imho because it warps the entire faction around it.

I always felt magmar was about high immediate impact, suspect bodied minions. This one definitely broke the mold and in a MASSIVE way.

you forgot the :thonk: headscratcher interaction with sentinels

turns out they actually completely counter lavaslasher

slasher takes 3 while the other minion gets off transformed, yet untouched

might also wanna check the daywatcher, phantasm, mirkblood, rizen, battle panddo and erratic raptyr interactions

You should make a video showcasing ALL the weird d i s c o v e r a b l e interactions

ooo, didn’t really think of these. Might have to do a part 2 if any of these interactions do anything particularly interesting!

(i didn’t forget the sentinels, btw. I mentioned them at end, the video was meant to show exploits that benefit it, the sentinels act weird with a lot of stuff, not just lavaslasher)

if there’s anything else that gives lavaslasher an advantage it wouldn’t have under “attack” rules I can maybeh do a pt 2 if there’s enough footage to show.

someone just commented on the video wondering how lavaslasher and ursaplomb react to each other! Since lavaslasher is not “attacking” does Ursaplomb “fight” in that scenario :o

interesting stuff!!

Ty sir!

Are any of the ones you felt I missed exploits that benefit lavaslasher? (Keeping in mind that sentinels act weird with a ton of stuff and that’s not exclusive to lavaslasher). Those were pretty much the only ones I wanted to feature, the ones that show advantages that “fighting” brings over “attacking” that don’t feel intentionally designed.

I didn’t watch the video yet but could agree more. Just played game and played 3 lavaslashers in row, T3, T4, T5. I still feel embarrassed about it😑

that poor soul you did that to :frowning:

Time to turn to the dark side.

OH LOL didnt catch that, very well done. Now that’s a challenger.

Edited and made it more obvious

The assassin one should be : kill 50 minions with Lavaslasher.

The interactions are clear in my opinion.

Fighting is not attacking. Therefore only cards which proc on damage dealt or received proc but not attacking / counterattacking.

The same with the Sentinel interactions. I just link to the wiki it is explained there: https://duelyst.gamepedia.com/Sentinel

The logic may be (very) weird but there is one.
