I don’t like to play Gauntlet
I see no reason to get good at a game mode i don’t need and don’t like
This basically equals "no need to play the game at all"
I already have a shitton of Gold, so no need for that.
Yeah be ready for even more broken shit, we can always need more of that. And it’s so fun to have to deal with it for months on end because the development team doesn’t give a fuck. And after the expansion we will have even more of this shit to deal with for even more months. How great is that?

Well some people were naive enough to still have hope. Fortunately i am not one of them but it kinda sucks if you always predict the worst and end up being right with it all the time…

Well then yeah don’t play the game until it is in a state you enjoy. I do not know why people like to make emotional rants or make it a big public scene when they are going to stop playing a game these days.
People act like entitled babies whenever they don’t like something and it isn’t changed in their favour. Matter of fact I hate this meta rn, but I don’t whine about it. Because it’s just a game so I go do other stuff.

Well when I buy a new car and it breaks down after half a year then I will complain about it and if I pay money to support a game I enjoy only to see the devs ruining it months later then I will complain as well and I dare say I have every right to do so. But I certainly won’t make a topic when I leave because when I leave it means I’ve stopped caring about it and I am not wasting time on things I don’t care about. God knows I should have stopped caring months ago but for some reason I still care and it honestly makes me sick.

Who fault is that for them being naive and it is not even matter of predicting the worse. 1 month is to soon to patch anything for Balance players,Players honestly do have to be given time to solve the meta. 2 months is still probably not enough time but the devs do something.So at that point you are probably testing changes and trying to come to descions what is the best change to implent. It is simple logic imo if it isn’t game breaking you probably will have to wait for 2 or 3 months for balance change.

We are in the 3 month time frame now but exapansion is in the pipeline.They are doing internal testing on the meta that will be up coming and they are balancing stuff based on what is current game now.Wouldn’t making big changes to factions effect what they are doing? Let say they give Magmar and Vanar weak set and all other factions a strong set.Then the game would be realtively balance right? But what happens if they nerf Vanar and Magmar hard and give them weak set then when expansion is released.Magmar and Vanar will be weak and we will have another uneven meta.

If it takes you two months to realise that Lavaslasher and MDG are busted then you shouldn’t be part of a balance team imo. Those cards shouldn’t have been released in the first place and if they slip through they should have been changed a week or two after release. I know that CPG is a small company and doesn’t have a huge team to test things, but they have a community to test if they want to. They can make a quick change, hear the community feedback and depending on it, change again a week later. Several small steps to balance a card with community feedback involved would yield far better results than just silently testing for 3 months only to end up with a card less in the game because it got nerfed into oblivion. And if you look back at this games history, how many cards have been nerfed and are still played today? The problem aren’t time or personal constraints here, the problem is that CPG thinks they know everything better when they don’t.

Oh I read everything don’t worry. And while I understand your argument and may agree with parts of it, I still find the last sentence hilarious and that was all I wanted to say :slight_smile:

You make it sound as if you are competent in the amount of effort that goes into editing a single card, let alone how that single card will affect all other cards.
You also state several changes for a single card and if the change is still not widely accepted it would be changed again. In a perfect world with infinite time and where it was possible to please everyone this would be amazing but we don’t live there yet.

All i am saying is stop simplifying things you do not understand.

What other company does it? I want recent examples of this occurring as well since we are speaking of recent CPG.
What cards did CPG constantly tweak in the past until it was widely accepted as perfect?
Oh and by the way this was also when CPG had less on their plate.

But i am humbly awaiting your examples.

You seem to be implying that the balance team is being overworked with designing the new cards, making art for the new cards, setting up in-game systems for the new cards, communicating with the community about new cards, setting up tournaments and doing the laundry while they’re at it.

The balance team afaik consists of 3 members and a lead, of which only the lead actually has any non-balance designation. So play-testing and balance improvement is pretty much the entire workload of those people. You’re calling the other guy out on his inability to understand things, yet your own knowledge of this particular situation is hazy at best.

Then we move on to the situation of if whether or not they have already decided if our current card pool is balanced for the time being. But I guess that is the answer you would all hate isn’t it.

Clearly the balance team are happy without making changes, since it means they can sip their drink and spend time doing other more important things -

One of the balance team members is a part-time employee who does research in his main job, so he’s not going to have any problems calling the cards balanced if it allows him more time to do his primary job and earning more.

Another is doing a PhD on how players in a game respond to frustration, so his data is only enhanced by not making necessary balance changes.

The newest member of the team is a 17 year old, who can have great ideas, but is highly unlikely to get his voice heard moving up through the hierarchy.

So, yeah, our current card pool is balanced for the time being. Because it suits my narrative, clearly.

This is a disingenuous statement, it’s almost like I can’t criticize a game because somewhere in Africa a child is starving.
