Just brainstorming an idea. Has anyone tried running a table- top RPG set in the Duelyst world? I’m guessing it could work if you used a very generalized system like FATE (accelerated) or GURPS. I think PCs would be generals, but maybe there are other interesting roles for PCs within the lore.
Would you get certain buffs and debuffs depending on what faction you chose? What would those look like?
I’m actually trying to dm a Duelyst D&D campaign but writing a story and better understanding the D&D rule set, with the help of a few IRL friends I will eventually start a campaign here on this forum.
Sound’s super cool. Are you basing it on 5e? How are you adapting classes and races? I’d be down to try it when you get it ready.
5e and the plan is that different races would be apart of different factions. (Faction as in not D&D factions but duelyst.)
I’ve wanted to play D&D irl since forever but none of my friends have ever been into it… This seems very interesting, I’ll follow you guys on this

@atheistmantis theistmantis, If you can’t find folks, you should look up Adventurer’s League in your area. There is often at least one monthly event going on in larger cities. You might also try meetup.com. Just be careful.
I would be willing to if I had any, its mostly just thoughts currently, I still have to talk to DMs at my local hobby store, which is first on my to do list.

Well… here is what I need to do… but first of all, how long does a D&D campaign last? It could last; A few hours, a day, a few days, a week, a month, a year or many years. I need to write out a story for however long I want to make it, I need to learn the rule set, I need to learn the Dos and the Don’ts and I need to adapt some things… so altogether… 
also forums mods, I thiink we need a SoonTM emote.
If you want to bounce ideas/have any generic questions def let me know I havent really played much 5e, but I’ve played a ton of alt systems and pathfinder and dm’d quite a bit

If you want, we can talk privately about this project on the forums DM’s or we can create a discord channel and invite some people to plan it out including @Ryvirath. I know nothing about D&D, but I am willing to learn and in the meantime will provide the creative aspect of it. We can also invite @t2k5 since he seems quite creative as well?
I’m more interested in game design and mechanics than writing, but sure.

Yeah, that was before I knew there was an official duelyst discord. Also, we could not run that server because it required us to be more…authoritarian than people would like.
Besides, this discord I am suggesting has a shelf life and most important of all, a purpose.
I need to see if I can delete that channel by the way, since no one ever goes on it, it seems kinder to just put it down.
You do what I do when I’m admin… Act like I normally do but never swing.
