@epicflygon Can you post your Faction/class option notes when you get a chance? I’d be very interested to see your approach.
@atheistmantis theistmantis, If you can’t find folks, you should look up Adventurer’s League in your area. There is often at least one monthly event going on in larger cities. You might also try meetup.com. Just be careful.
I would be willing to if I had any, its mostly just thoughts currently, I still have to talk to DMs at my local hobby store, which is first on my to do list.

A wizardly RPG experience happens precisely when it means to.
Well… here is what I need to do… but first of all, how long does a D&D campaign last? It could last; A few hours, a day, a few days, a week, a month, a year or many years. I need to write out a story for however long I want to make it, I need to learn the rule set, I need to learn the Dos and the Don’ts and I need to adapt some things… so altogether… 
also forums mods, I thiink we need a SoonTM emote.

If you want, we can talk privately about this project on the forums DM’s or we can create a discord channel and invite some people to plan it out including @Ryvirath. I know nothing about D&D, but I am willing to learn and in the meantime will provide the creative aspect of it. We can also invite @t2k5 since he seems quite creative as well?

Yeah, that was before I knew there was an official duelyst discord. Also, we could not run that server because it required us to be more…authoritarian than people would like.
Besides, this discord I am suggesting has a shelf life and most important of all, a purpose.
I need to see if I can delete that channel by the way, since no one ever goes on it, it seems kinder to just put it down.

My version is like the real game actually. I think it would be very interesting to port it to other formats, though. I’m confident the story of Duelyst has a lot more potential than what it is used for at the moment. So glad to see people trying to expand it at least a little 
I’d like to dive into the mechanics a little.
Assuming all PCs are generals and you are trying to use D&D 5e, they would obviously be a magic class. So their bloodborne spells would function as cantrips.
It makes sense that the rest of their spells would be available to them based on their factions. So if you chose to be a Songhai general, you would only have Songhai spells available to you. In most cases, the spell level could correlate to mana cost.
The only exceptions to the mana cost- spell level correlation would have to be the legendary spells. We would need to find some kind of limitation. Maybe we can say the PC must find certain components or only be able to cast it once per day or must use multiple spell slots.
Alternatively, all the pcs are different characters but become bloodborns at high levels, theu aren’t neccesarily minions but instead just normal people of certian races.
So I’ve reviewed the lore and it has revealed some possibilities for potential classes. In Chapter Six: The First Empire, It describes seven branched of disciplines which could be used as classes. Though taking the vague descriptions and building full classes might prove to be labor intensive. But then again, many hands make light work.
The other possibility to make everyone start as a Chakri Avatar (since they eventually turn into the bloodborn generals), but that could create unwanted limitations.
