Sun Taura - A Taura deck that works

O man…this deck…

Note: There are 3 Blistering Scorns,2 Ruby Rifter,3 Chakkrams and of curse 3 Blood Tauras in the deck. Deckbuilder still doesnt have those cards

I am not sure how to put it…but this deck weirdly works! Currently cant give a real WInrate because at rank 11 are Diamonnd,Gold and S-rank player so i cant really say how good this deck is but its pretty good in this patch of ranks.

The Idea:

Hurting yourself and stall the game until you drop Taura. Pretty simple isnt it? The playstyle is very aggresiv and you need to adjust the way you play because to make the decision of healing or getting low for the taura needs a little bit of skill, forshadowing and luck.

Explaination of weird choices:

Why did you choose Lionheart Blessing and Rubyrifter as the only carddraw cards in the deck?

Very simple answer is that the curve was really imprtant. You dont normally ramp towrds any big minion…the Taura can cost 3 or less. So you are looking for cards play wich it or support it.
Due to Chakkram and our good friend Silverguard is the Blessing a pretty solid carddrawand Ruby Rifter is in a deck where you hit your face into other faces all the time an AMZING card. I cant sayhow good that card is…its a thread from the beginning and draws you a card 90% of the time and again its a great body/removal bait.

3 Blood Tauras? Isnt that a bit to muich for something you dont drop that often?

This deck drops nearly every Game one Blood Taura…its built to do that…you can say its a wincondition. Tho Blood Taura can be a dead draw, the cards i put into this deck shoud always provide you with some play. It took me a long time to tweak this one (and it was a nightmare) but i can savely say that dropping Taura isnt that difficult then you think.

There are not many reactiv cards in the deck…how do you deal with anything over 5 Health?

Outlive your enemy. It is weird but this deck really focus on stalling the game until Taura drops. Of currse its the perfect anti swarm deck with Scorns and Sunriser but most of the time you use them to get that little edge you need to either push damage or kill a thread (Scorn is amazing earlygame and works well with the BBS). There are enough highealth lowcost minions in the deck to stall the agme and heal them until Taura comes and a special shoutout to Chakkram being one of the central-cores of this deck.

Conclusion:

This deck useally wins with a Taura not being removed (because removal are wasted on other stuff due to the surprise factor or other things) or simply because they run out of steam and your sticky minion take over.

Bad Matchups woud be:

Creep (because you cant handle creep with good draw BUT can use the damage to get Taura out…when you wanna take that gamble)

Mech (machaz0r useally is ,GG win’’ because your deck cant win faster then he drops)

Good ones woud be :

Surprisingly…Kara (you woud think Kara woud benifit from the stall the game tactic but when she looses earlygame to Scorn and cant remove enough minion…well then Kara becomes useless when Tauar drops)

Magmar

Songhai

Well…have fun and good luck by judging when to get low or when to heal  This deck rocks and winds every second game but with some practice i will have better matches. (The moments that this deck gave me in this 2 days where amazing…have to m make a montage)

Hm sounds pretty interesting. Everyone was saying the card is trash but I think you may have found a way to work around it. LIke you said if you damage yourself then heal back up then you have more control of when it is being summoned. Maybe add some cards that are good at baiting removal?

Its really hard to fit ANY card into such an decks because of how weird the curve and the combination of cards can be. Another 4 drop is for example very bad and cloggs your hand up…

I see how i can tweak it but this kinda deck needs alot of testing because you cant really forshadow how things will react to this meta…

Did you think about including Grandmaster? It could make the deck safer.

I put him once in the deck but he just wasnt that useful…i have to see how i fit him in…

interesting, i was expecting you to run grandmaster so you could survive even after playing 1 mana blood taura

I was planning on making a deck as well for Lyonar with it kind of like (if you don’t play HS sorry this prob wont make sense) renolock haha so ya. I am really tempted to try making a Starhorn Deck w/ Blood Taura in it with a real control aspect to it.

I dont play it but i watched videos for comparison and learning porposes so i understand whatchy wanna do :stuck_out_tongue:

Well i gave up an magmar…magamr just need something like silverguard knight…(a good 3 drop that can stall good) Butthe biggest issue is that magamr has to be way more precice with the healing because 4 mana is way to clunky…you want heal with th tauar drop because you have to be 5 health or less to make it happen…lyonar is way more genrous when doing that…
