Strategos Brome deck help?

Strategos

This is my deck at the moment, and for the most parts, it’s either a hit or miss. Sometimes, the Trial completes in about 4 or 5 turns and the opponent is instantly overwhelmed, but other times, I lose my tempo to janky combo decks like Razorblade Ranged or Burn Mech Starhorn. Games really get troublesome when I can’t draw big boys like Auroara or Giago to protect weaker minions, and the opponent can just.

I would like this deck to be more consistent. I am actually willing to sacrifice some general firepower for the sake of consistency. I would welcome general suggestions, better decklists, and gameplay advice. Thank you!

Yo dude try taking out giago for dreamchaser

Lifestream and most spells take up mana you could be using to flood the board, try taking out l stream for another jax truesight

Pure blade and araras are a tad slow, you want to find ways to flood as hard as possible to get big daddy straty out as soon as possible. Azure herald is pretty good immediate sustain, required to get through aggro safely.

And run draining waves to be able to develop board and deal with your enemies at the same time. Normal jax is also extremely powerful, as it gets you TWO more 1/1s for one card, like zyx

Unfortunately, I don’t have Dreamchaser at the moment. Are you sure I don’t need to run any big minions other than Jax Truesight?

Also you may want to try out warblade, very little reason to have celebrant without it. White palm whatever his name is also nice tech to defend against the aoe everyone is pumping into their decks to screw brome right now

Warblade sounds great; I’ll try it out.

@halcyon98 well, big minions are going to compete with what you want to do most of the time. You want to A- flood board to bring up the count to five for jax truesight
B- play jax truesight to get the stratty up
C- get stratty out

Auroura is the closest thing to a big minion you have, its cheap for an awesome body that says “remove me or die” which at least will always slow down the opponents next turn

What’s your opinion on removal? Should I run them or not? I noticed that many of Strategos lists didn’t run any kind of removal.

Run martyrdom and draining wave, very very strong. Right now there is just too many threats to ignore them, and even hypersewarm lilithe has always at least run some daemoic lures. Thorn exists

Alright, this is my deck for now. I will experiment with Draining Wave and Azure Herald later, and craft Dreamgazer and Truesight when I get the chance. (As for the Giago, I won’t take him out because he’s my favorite.) Thank you!

Looks pretty good so far, and if you want to get strategos to go off easier than take out legion and lifestream for the previously mentioned, but as of now it makes it much stronger vs board wipes

Seems like Golem metallurgist would be great here instead of prophet for synergy with warblade and celebrant.

I have mixed thoughts about Metallurgist at this point as it doesn’t proc the Trial, but I’ll try it out sometime. Thanks!

Mettalurgist is too slow, 2 mana to not progess stratty. I would sub in Jax for the giagos

Realistically, playing Prophet purely because it has 1 attack isn’t all that great either. Metallurgist allows you to not only ramp out some of your other golems giving you more swarm power, but can help trigger Warblade’s bond effect to buff your swarm outside of Plasma storm range or just to increase stickyness.

Yeah, it is not a 1 attack minion, but prophet outside of his attack is utterly useless. Might as well run Vale Hunter. The draw does nothing and having a chance to get +1 HP isn’t all that great either.

Im talking about running prophet to avoid tempest, ghost lightning, and a bunch of other AOE spells in case people get too prejudiced against brome

Ohhhh nvm you were talking about araras prophet
