Solfist Feedback Thread

Solfist has come to cleanse the world in fire, and is now available to fight for 1 week.

What are your opinions on the Boss?

I dunno what else to put here.

Hes too difficult for normal decks
But too easy for vanar
Frigid corona causes him to melt himself alive without achieving anything while every other faction gets burned to death by him
It would be better if he himself would be immunte to stun but no incinera early on

is it just me or is creep cassy good against basically every boss?
first try
maybe its the stalling
maybe its how easy it is to trick the boss into standing on creep tiles
or maybe its the amount of healing available
the world may never know

I beat him on my first attempt with a fairly standard Magmar deck. Had natural selection to get rid of his two starting minions early. The AI did not know what to do with rebirth minions, and I managed to finish him off with a Thumping Wave Rebirthed Young Silithar.

Was close, he got me down to 3hp, so I would have lost had I not had lethal.

Really? I got utterly curb-stomped first try against this guy.

considering that i got curb stomped by every other deck i tried, i can believe it. succeeded with a dance of memes deck. it really helps that the boss damages itself so long as your not right next to it.

something i noticed is that the boss doesnt take full advantage of its reactivation ability. in one game it reactivated and ran away since it had low health. and in other games it just sat there. even though i had other minions nearby.

Played a dance of memes otk deck, didn’t even get the combo but I bodyblocked him with a bunch of stuff and equipped a twin fang. Combined with him clearing a lot of stuff, and his hamons, he burnt himself to 10 hp where I could take him out

Pretty good boss though

Especially with the AI!

he knew to put the incinera and the sworn avenger in the corners, which is good!

Really enjoy this boss  One of my favorites for sure. Vanar can definitely help him cool off.

Undying Abyss didn’t work on first try so I was dissapointed and made a special deck for him, with another cheesy combo you can pull only versus AI : the well-known Boundless Dasher with a pinch of ramp, a drop of stalling, some EMP on top … perfect cocktail for him

Creep cassy 1st try :v

He went full aggro on my high attack minions (blaze hound, klaxon).
Finished with a sword.

Songhai made boss easier than expected, used onyx bear seal to trap myself in a corner with a bunch of weak minions that couldnt re-activate solfist. If anyone would like to see how i did it here is a video showing the strategy i used for kaleos, I hope it helps. ultimately it felt like it came down to minion positioning and pure luck for this matchup. My cassyva creep deck did not work as expected against this boss so i had to improvise.

I have to be honest; I wasn’t very interested in this one. Just face, face, and more face. I can play that anytime by playing against Starhorn. All I did was spam Concealing Shroud to win. Not much room to experiment and try ridiculous decks against this boss when the game is over in four turns, which is MY favorite part of playing the bosses.

There are only so many boss ideas that can be thought up, so I can understand if some don’t appeal to me as much. I just wouldn’t want to face another boss like this one.

He summoned Hamon Blade Seeker.
Pinged to death.
10/10 would do it again

lol I finally won when I realized I wasn’t supposed to fight him. silhouette tracers, beam shock, (fleeing galore).

(also had crossbones, wind stoppers)

Great boss, it’s a refreshing change of pace knowing that he won’t do unfavorable sequences ALL the time. I haven’t got around to beating him yet, but once I do I hope it wont be through a cheese !

:cheese:

i guess thats why abyss works so well against bosses

Sajj got wrecked more by Solfist than by anyone barring Zendo, Zirix managed to weaken him enough that he ran for his life in the corner only to burn up once he ended his turn.

I was ‘pleasantly’ surprised by the challenge provided by this boss. It was quite challenging. Funny that I thought the burn damage would be applied to the whole arena - the burn damage is actually just around the boss. I managed to win on my third attempt (my quickest boss battle so far lol) using the healer lyonar general and provoke minions, basically waiting for him to rupture himself down. Dealt his ranged minions by using spells. Be careful if he buff the sworn avenger.

Kinda challenging unless you’re playing vanar. Then it’s just brain dead. Lol. Very fun though!
