yeah this one is quite hard. i too lost a bunch with different decks had to handcraft a deck to counter it.

i used vaath:
3 rancour, 3 sunsteels, 2 nightwatchers (he will play his own nightwatcher so no reason to take rush minions), 3 plasma storm, 3, earthsphere, 2 grove lions (i only have 2, probably 3 would be better, this one is key here).

just try to survive and use forcefield + plasma storm to clear board later on when you stack bbs with forcefield it will be enough to just clear any minion he plays and you can concentrate on building enough minions to get the lethal.

Went in blindly with my healonar deck and won on first try ^^

Scyntilla’s and sun sisters carried the game for me.

I think the boss should summon minions first and then attack, now he just took much damage on his turn.

I like how he tried to run away with his minions to keep the boss immune, fun mechanic well done thanks for the fun (and orb!)

Thanks, guys, but I honestly don’t want to spend more time on this one. Building a deck just for the boss is boring to me, I think bosses should come with two difficulty levels and only the hard one should require this.

(On @isbee’s Abyssal game, saw a celestial phantom that should have prioritized his nearby Shadowdancer over attacking his general.)

Seeing improvements, and great difficulty level. Grade A stuff :slight_smile: Keep it up guys :slight_smile:

Shin means Death, or to die.
Kage means Shadow.
Hokage from Naruto can be translated as “Fire Shadow”

Does this make me umm…you know what? :worried:

EDIT: Aka Death’s Shadow. Oh look, it matches the list of bosses, they just changed the name slightly.

The Boss trashed all my decks excepts my Variax deck…(I only have 2 ladder viable decks anyways.)

Although it was pretty interesting new boss, probably the best of them so far.

This boss was the first one that felt like the puzzles that I have been craving for. He slaughtered my first couple of attempts, until I thought “you want battle pets? Let’s give you battle pets”. I brought out my starhorn battle pet deck and flooded the board with tons and tons of battle pets. Surprisingly: This worked. I overran him pretty easily and the ease in flooding with battle pets also meant that I blocked my path a couple of times.

Fun boss. Good to see one that doesn’t fold to abyssian deathwatch.

Despite my previous complaints, one thing I would like to add: kudos to CPG for improving the AI so much since the last boss. That was really impressive!

For me the challenge was frustrating to the point that I stopped trying to complete it. I don’t need the aggravation and I wasn’t planning on buying the Orb so I’ll probably be leaving this one alone. Just a bit of feedback for CPG there.

Suggested tip: Advanced players bonus: kill boss with 2 different factions! Win rare crate key.if beat boss with 3 different factions, win epic crate key. What do you think?

This in my opinion was the best boss so far. Shinkage provided a challenge that I actually had to build a deck for to beat (removal healyonar) unlike all the other bosses which I beat with ease using my control ramp faei deck. Props to CPG for this creative and unique boss.

Scintilla was my best friend on this too. By making yourself virtually invincible it stops mattering that you act like a battle pet.

Got salty after various attempts, not realising it was his minions making him invincible. Then got even more enraged when his minions ran away. Didn’t care to try more with it.

Edit: I was also running battle-pets, so it didn’t help when I lost every flip of the coin when it came to attack order, in relation to the minions and my general, which could have killed key minions.

Edit 2: Later, had another attempt. Won barely. Started with Sworn Avengers, which got stomped by Cobra, and only survived by a combination of Daywatcher and Jax Truesight, giving me +5 each turn. Still didn’t enjoy this particularly.

@jukeboxery Attack order isn’t based on coin flips though, battle pets attack in the order they were summoned. Since your general was on the board first it always attacks first.

Admittedly, something I’ve never been dreadfully aware of, so thank you.

However, if they are summoned with Nature’s Confluence, which attacks first and which attacks last? All 4 are summoned simultaneously, to my knowledge.

@jukeboxery I believe it goes left to right and then top to bottom in that case, I’m not entirely sure though.

Quatermaster Gauj + “Damage Immunity” is frustratingly annoying.
