Seems pretty strong. Looks like it’ll compete with young silithar for magmar’s 2-drop slot.
Cute, simple, waaay better than Earthwalker, excellent in Gauntlet, requires strong placement to maximize value, and no silly RNG attached: Love it.

I think this might be the first decent card with grow mechanic. It’s simple, it’s playable and it’s god damn cute. I fucking love it.

A 2 drop that demands that it gets dispelled.I am happy
For a 2 drop, I think this card will be effective with the grow mechanic, as on the turn it attacks it will gain a +1/+1 boost, effectively making it a 3/5 on the start of your next turn (if it isn’t dispelled). One question though, how many battles pets, including token ones, will be released in the expansion? (specifically for each faction and neutral battle pets).
This is actually a very cool combination of the growth and Battlepets mechanics. It gets more powerful for staying away from the battle, yet, since it is a battlepet, it needs to be near enemy units for more control over its attack pattern.
This is not the wet dream of an magmarcard that i was exspecting…but its pretty close ^^
I always wanted a growthcard that is viable but never had an idea how to make growth good…

I think this also boost the value of Nature 's conference the Fractal Replication on one these things is legit worry for someone.
I am now seriously wondering if “random battle pet” is weighted toward faction battle pets more than neutral token battle pets (a.l.a. Discover keyword in Hearthstone). I have only two words for pulling this from Nature’s Confluence: Ecballium elaterium. =S

Does dispel remove the battle pet subtype? I am not sure about that.
Probably not, as battle pet is it subtype, not the card text, same way dispel doesn’t remove the arcanyst or golem subtype. But dispel will remove the grow effect from it so it will somewhat demand dispel as it already have high stats for its cost, and can grow higher than that…

No it doesn’t remove the pet tag but Magmar has Taygete, Elder, Kolossos, Vindicator and some times Sunsteel,Dioltas and Veteran Silthar. Anything sucks a dispel up away from Taygete and other real threats the better.
