I want it to work, but 3-mana 2/3 is incredibly underwhelming, and difficult to keep alive or maintain board control long enough to really get value. Further, there just aren’t enough decent Grow minions (let alone spells) to support this yet (we’d need another solid card like Gro).

Taking growth to a whole new level. Whelp,at least it will make it easier to use with scorn, and they have immediate growth effects as well. Lots of power houses in this expansion…

So, considering the current grow minions, the dream is to play this on 3, have it not die, then proceed to play grimrock on 4 and kolosus on 5 to just shit on your enemy with huge overstatted minions. It doesn’t seem to unrealistic, but it still worries me a little bit. Mostly due it’s it’s shit stats and it requiring setup for any significant tempo advantage. Currently, if you want instant value from this you got to play it with kolosus and that’s 8 mana for a 2/3 and a 5/11. That actually does sound decent as well, but then again, it’s just big bodies without any effect, vulnerable to removals and dispel.

Iunno, it depends on the new grow minions too. Biggest question is, will the raw stats you get from combo-ing this be enough to keep up with all the broken synergies other factions are getting? Even if it doesn’t, it’s at least going to be slightly entertaining.

It’s an auto-removal target; if it stay alive for one enemy turn they have a 4/5 on their hands their next turn. I, for one, am not usually able to Martyrdom both this and an Earth Walker successively. And a 9/15 Kolossus can’t be ignored either.

Good point, it certainly presents a respectable threat, but only in the very early- or late-game (comboing with Kolossus, as Raqyee mentioned). In terms of constructed, I just don’t see this living (or going undispelled) against top factions (and even Lyonar has Sunbloom). And again, if this is drawn anywhere in the mid-game, then it’s super dead.

Besides that, all other Grow minions (besides Gro) are very weak to dispel, and are awful without this card in-play and undispelled. I just can’t see the support for it as of now. However, in Gauntlet, this thing is just a steamroller on its own; add any other Grow minions and it’s GG.

Edit: Just as an exercise, some possible outcomes:

As P1:
-T1 Young Silithar / HM / Primus
-T2 Take Mana Orb, Gro on other Mana Orb + Moloki
-T3 Kolossus (Flash) / Taygette / Grimrock
-T4 Kolossus / Grimrock

As P2:
-T1 Gro on Mana Orb + 2nd Gro
-T2 Moloki
-T3 Kolossus

Even with these “ideal” scenarios, the opponent has plenty of opportunities to simply shut this down with dispels.

Definitely a step to the right direction, I love those kind of cards that not only are good but also brings bad stuff in the meta, it is like having 4 new cards instead of one (colossus/grimrock/earthwalker/moloki).

With that being said, even with the introduction of Gro, current grow minions are so underwhelming that we are going to need at least one other card of this kind before we can start talking about a grow deck.

I personnally love it. Will this see play? I don’t know but not with the current state of grow minions imo.

We need a Magmar spell that gives friendly minions grow
Death fire crescendo is already a win condition, why not give one to magmar with grow?

So here is the question

2.Gro
3.Huntress,Earth walker
4.Grimrock
5.Kolossus

Of course this will have greater fortitudes to buff silenced grow minions or make unvalue grow minions better.Do factions have enough the dispel/hard removal to remove a full deck of grow minions and Taygete?

Is the deck fast enough to work in the meta because Kolossus is actually useable minion righr now but just running away until you find removal or repuslar beast to corner effective stops Kolossus and all grow minions.

I hope this minions works.

The fact that this needs to be dealt with automatically makes it good. There are only so many removals/dispels in a deck.

If there are more new grow mechanics, or even a minion that makes other minions grow with it, than this would be great. Otherwise, its mediocre on its own. It essentially has grow +2/+2, so if it manages to survive a turn, it can carry its own weight.

I like that grow is getting some love, always wanted to make a grow deck because it sounded super annoying but reality wasn’t so kind.

What this card really does that people don’t seem to be considering is require long-distance removal and/or dispel – which means at 3 you’re opening the door for an uncontested Taygete on 4. :slight_smile:

The Grow spell used to exist, in Alpha. Removed for unknown reasons (too weak?).

Too Strong :smiley: was quite powerful with hand refill and the monstrosity that was golem Magmar.
