Salutations and sugestions

Hello there, Perix here. I started played some months ago and I am about to hit gold \o/

I live in Fortaleza, Brazil. So if you live near me or if you are thinking in visiting the town let me know :wink:

btw, i’m not very good in english, so sorry if I make some mistakes.

Now that the salutations are done lets go for the ā€œSugestionsā€ part…

I love the Golem theme and I’d like to see more interactions with it. The way I see it, the golems are not just moving things controled by a mage, but they are a being with a soul and they respect their lifes as the most precious thing they have. With that in mind I designed a card text: ā€œOpening Gambit: Give a friendly Golem Refined +1/+1ā€. The ā€œRefinedā€ text representes a buff that can not be silenced, becouse the ā€œRefinementā€ is a part of them now.

So, let me know what you think and if you wold like to see more golems too :smile:

It’s a pretty bad idea for several reasons.

  1. Cards shouldn’t get changed that easily just for lore reasons.
  2. Your idea doesn’t really help golems in making them all that better.
  3. It’s very uninteresting.
  4. Considering how simple it is, it makes no sense for it to be a keyword. ā€œimmune to spellsā€ should have it’s own keyword though, I’ll agree to that.

Hey! Welcome to the forum. There are some negative people on here, don’t pay them too much mind. I think golems are cool too, I like them in other games especially when you can summon them and make them fight for you.

I think some changes to the Golems would be nice, as you don’t ever really see any in play once you have unlocked pretty much any other cards that take up the same spots. I think like you said the Refinement would be interesting, but any synergies would be nice. As of right now I think the only things we have are the Provoke Golem(Gives other Golems provoke) and the Summon Golem(1 less mana cost on Golem summon) Buffs, position swapping, merging, anything really, would be super cool. Golems have huge statlines, but because they don’t have any effects they are pretty much not played.

About your suggestion, well i don’t think it would help golems too much to just give more stats to them, and making this ā€œrefinedā€ mechanic could be unnecessarely complex. We already have some golem synergies like Golem Vanquisher (which gives provoke to other golems) and Golem Metallurgist (which reduces cost), but they’re not enough to push golems in to viability.

Maybe if we had more golems that work like both of these, who give effects to friendly golems when they’re on the board, then it could be more intersting. Some golem that gives them frenzy or flying for example, or a golem that restore 2 health of other golems at the end of the turn, or even some golem who invert their stats could be an interestig way to use them.

I don’t know if they would be exceptionally good but at least they would be more intersting to play.
