S-Rank Vetruvian Golem Deck

This is the deck used in S-rank on July. Its not anything new but…it works. Magmar has toned down their endless rushing thanks to superior mirage.

Main Strategy:

  • Flood the board with golems and buffing them with inner oasis while drawing cards. Keep your hand full and ready to answer threats, and additional cycle cards so you can further refill as needed. You card-draw cards are swarm oriented so you want to spend them and thin your deck.

  • As late game approaches, prepare to drop your big minions. As we all know, removal is abundant, so try to wait until you can drop them consecutively. Expect your 1st big drop to be answered. Eg. Aymara -> Aymara -> EMP -> EMP.

  • Avoid using your General to trade too often, try to conserve your General’s hp.

Tech slot:
That extra 2slots in the deck which hasn’t been able to find a card to stick to. The tech you want to include really depends on the ladder. Here is a few that has worked well in the past. (Occupied by Superior Mirage in the current image.)

  • Lightbender: Dispel is just useful anything that relies on buff/effect to be effective. You’re playing mostly statsticks so dispelling yourself is no major loss.

  • Superior Mirage: A niche card that can either be useless, or hilariously game-winning depending on the matchup (And whether people are playing into it). Mostly there to keep Magmar in check.

    • Most obvious usage is on Rush minions.
    • Juggernaut/Nimbus will still summon REAL eggs/obelysk before disappearing when attacked.
    • Copy Zendo to mess with a Songhai General.
  • Sandswirl Reader: I haven’t really tried this enough. Good tempo style play?

  • 2nd Wish: Mostly for being annoying to Vaath since he needs to trade minions into it. Not bad in early game since opponents often use their General for trading. Buff tigers for the extra lethal range.
