But last I checked Vaath was melted to death by acid, how can Vaath seduce anyone when he’s rather dead

Did someone say revenant?

The cloaked figure stalked the night, testing the planes for it’s next victim. Claws as sharp as death, fangs as long as night, shrouded in the cold embrace of the abyss it walked when it suddenly came across a scene so dastardly it daren’t resist. Corpses littered the ground, limbs torn, faces wrenched, bits and pieces of carnage littered the walls of the building. The Revenant shuffled towards a fleeting life when a grinding noise filled the hall.

‘Rumble, Rumble, Rumble’

The Revenant stopped in it’s tracks, inches away from it’s next victim when a red eye peered at it from the murky darkness. The Revenant gasped (or at least made its best attempt at doing so) as it gazed upon the luxurious red eye its delicate curves contrasted its exotically sharp teeth. The Revenant knew it could not resist and so, the lone tendril pulled it in closer to the heavenly red eye. He never even noticed when the worm closed it’s jaws shut, it’s prey secured.

it was more of a joke or a bump to have a little fun than serious attempt to win the game.

Don’t discriminate against his gooey bod! It’s all the rage in Magaari!

EDIT: Also, it’s not death, it’s just a phase!

The Lyonar Kingdom lives by a doctrine of total, indefatigable war. No matter the foe, the golden Generals refuse to acknowledge defeat, instead contenting themselves to match blade for blade with any opponent. It is for this reason that they so often face defeat at the hands of the Abyssian: the tireless armies of the Lyonar are not indestructible, and the forces of undeath can be literally endless, between the infinite waves of Wraithlings and vile school of necromancy. To defeat such an enemy, the Lyonar, never willing to admit defeat, developed combat tactics specifically countering Abyssian tactics. The Sunbloom Artillery was merely the first of such specialized divisions, and with the first battalion’s defeat the full force of the military was now bearing down on the Ruins.

So began the assault: an aerial rift opened above the ancient locus. As the Suntide Maidens poured from the portal, descending lightly upon the enemy, heavier units simply dropped like gilded cannonballs to the earth and left craters in the soiled earth. The Lysian Brawlers, fan favorites in the arena and on the battlefield, began the blitzkrieg immediately. Azurite Lions hit the ground running and tore towards the torrid target, sun bleached by the previous offensive.

The plan was a swift strike to assist the Grand Magus’ war hungry ways, but mere minutes of reconnaissance revealed the avian ally had suffered defeat at the hands of another rival faction: the reptiles were here, and they were moving quickly towards unlocking the Ruins.

Zi’Ran pouted and exhaled, flexing her robotic limbs. With her six armored appendages, two swords and two shields, she resembled some sort of deity of melee combat. She had come prepared for Abyssian, but the Magmar were an entirely different nuisance. She beckoned back the swift melee units and called the first Celerity Division to attention.

“Crusader Formation,” she said, and the beasts surged into the tunnels with nationalistic Zeal. Those who do not know Azurites may underestimate the intelligence of these heavy feline cavalry units, but they are actually capable of understanding and executing complex maneuvers independent of riders. Now, they ran the stone corridors of the Ruins, hunting for victims.

A white haired woman turned the corner and sank a left hook into her attacker. Limp, the big cat fell to the side, but another leaped over the azure corpse and lept into combat. This one too was shattered completely, but out of the saddle lept a tiny mammalian creature. Confused, Taygete knelt down to observe this adorable animal, but a fiery glow sent her running for cover: the Slo was wreathed in heavenly flame, engulfing the hallway in a Holy Immolation.

These grenade-like Battlepets sank the Ruins into chaos, as squads of lions dropped incendiary rounds on surprised reptiles. Dazed by the explosions the Magmar were easy pickings for the heavier infantry, sliced to ribbons by the wings of the Maidens. From behind her forward line, Zi’Ran annihilated the Warbeast bearing down on her troops with a Draining Wave.

“Heal!” she shouted, and her assistant administered another Sundrop Elixir. The magic drink seeped into her wounds, and she immediately blasted a Silithar with a second Wave. Between her arcane barrage, the heavy infantry, and grenade-like Immolations that turned the Ruins into a deadly game of “The Floor is Lava”, the Lyonar purge was nearly unstoppable.

Nearly.

An Azurite bounded to Zi’Ran’s side, nudging its mane into her elbow in search of praise. She obliged him momentarily, but took note of the green and purple mass in its jaws. Coaxing the beast’s fangs apart, she pulled a young child in Abyssian garbs from the Lion’s mouth. Still breathing, but unconscious; the child could not have been more than twelve, yet was horribly battlescarred.

Were she not a proud Lyonar, Zi’Ran may have pondered the purpose of this battle, so great that it would drag a preadolescent into the maelstrom of war. But a Lyonar does not question any reason to crusade. Swiftly, deliberately, Zi’Ran brought her sword to the neck of the infant.

A screech resounded throughout the Ruins, and a sound like rushing water echoed off the walls. Something big was coming, and fast.

Still clutching the child in one hand, Zi’Ran ducked into a side room, and a wall of flesh slid past. The sounds of dying Lyonar mixed with the clash of mangled metal and scrape of stone on scales. A massive worm with a singular eye was patrolling the hallways of the Ruins, barely fitting the hallways due to its massive girth. Had Zi’Ran noticed the rounded corners, worn down by the worm’s path, perhaps she would have lead more carefully. As it stood now, she was facing an enemy far too large to battle outright.

Cut off from the bulk of her army outside and trapped in a windowless stone room, Zi’Ran’s mind raced for a solution. The Magmar were still in the Ruins, as were the Abyssian (or, at least, one harmless Abyssianette). Neither would be an ally to her… but perhaps they could aid in defeating the worm?

The next person who writes better be interesting (and it better not be another update on how far away the Vetruvian are, or I will be super upset). It’s easy to say “I dispel the Worm and win” but let’s try something fun, aye? I believe in you, fellow writers!

Argeon’s back in Windcliffe preparing an army to take the ruins

I chose songhai because the worm wants some spice in its meals. Vetruvians may be filling, but they taste bland

Meanwhile…

During the commotion of the entire battle no one had cared to enter the lower levels of the ruins. Starhorn was still studying the key he had discovered, with the help of Hugo, Zir’an had only just entered the ruins and was already fighting a behemoth of a worm while dragging around an unconscious Abyssian child and the Vetruvians camping on the plateau that overlooked the ruins managed to convince the Scioness who had just recently arrived to not rush blindly into the fray.

On the first level of the catacombs the goo that had once been Vaath had turned into an egg, a rather large egg, that seemed close to hatching. The ruins above shook as the weight of the worm moved from room to room. This disturbed the egg causing plasma to arc from the egg striking the walls, ceiling and floor. The egg had hatched with an eruption of force and Vaath once again was conscious.

Curious about the constant shaking of the ruins, Vaath decided to venture to the first floor of the ruins to investigate. Upon reaching the threshold that separated the catacombs and the first floor of the ruins he noticed several crushed and half eaten corpses.

Vaath noticed that they were not corroded like those eaten by the Horror Bursters. “Where in Eyos are those damnable annoyances?” Vaath wondered. Another tremor in the ruins caught Vaath by surprise. Instinctively Vaath rushed to the source only to be met by a pair of Windblade Adepts. “Green lizard!” one of them shouted as he drew his weapon. Before the other could do much as touch his weapon an Elucidator pounced on the footman and killed him. The Windblade Adept that had his weapon drawn was distracted by the rather messy death of his companion and was summarily killed by Vaath who had taken the chance to fling a rather large stone that had fallen from the ceiling from all of the tremors at the Adept’s head.

Before Vaath could speak to the Elucidator it darted off in another direction to hunt more of the Lyonar footmen scattered throughout the ruins. Vaath decided to continue towards the source of these tremors only to discover the rear end of something rather titanic.

Whatever this creature was it was obviously pursuing something and was inconveniently stuck in the doorway. Vaath had lost his equipment when he had last died, but this did not stop him from attempting to attack the hide of the large beast. His attacks only managed to annoy the creature.

The worm, annoyed by Vaath’s clawing, backed out of the doorway forcing Vaath to move into the next room to avoid being crushed by the worm as it turned to face Vaath. Vaath readied himself as the worm began to squeeze itself into the room where Vaath had moved.

The room was large, probably what served as a cafeteria for the original occupants of the ruins. There was enough space for both Vaath and the worm. As the worm slid into the room Vaath readied himself, he had fought beasts of similar size before and knew his plan of action. He would simply outmaneuver it and inflict as much damage as possible then perform a fighting retreat into the next set of hallways. Then he would begin to use hit and run tactics, only striking at the monster when it moved through intersections.

The worm had settled into the cafeteria, sending its tentacles along the room’s floor towards Vaath. As soon as the Aspect felt one of the tendrils brush his foot he darted towards the worm to begin his attack.

Edit: as per the request of @thefirstgokun something that isn’t about the Vetruvians coming with winter, though to note this is not an attempt at killing the worm but to give whoever is wanting to align with the Magmar Aspects something to go off of.

distracted from chasing an annoying snack in armor, the worm turns around to find something it has eaten before. remembering how tasty it was, the worm pursues the lizard into a large room. before the work could trap the lizard with tentacles, the incomprehensibly stupid lizard charged the worm. slightly confused, but overall happy its prey decided to become easier to eat. the worm was surprised when the lizard did not jump into its mouth to be eaten, but punched it with enough force the worm actually felt the blow. deciding this lizard might actually pose a minor threat to the worm, it looked at something as an adversary instead of as food for the first time.

the lizard dodged the worms lunges and was far harder to catch than his large bulk implied. vaath tried attacking using plasma, but it just danced on the worms carapace before being returned back to its caster in full force. despite going beyond his limits with overload, the plasmas power reduced by sheer force of will(and muscle), it did stun him for a moment. that moment allowed the worms tentacles to trap vaath while the worm approached. insert fan fiction here

repeatedly overloading his body, he manages to break free, but the worm is already upon him. vaath manages to escape the worms jaws by sacrificing his arms to the beast. attempting to buy enough time to heal his wounds the lizard runs. but the door he escapes to is a long corridor, and the worm travels fastest in a straight line. before vaath can turn a corner, the worm catches up and devours him.

crunchy, yet satisfying.vaath is paste in the worms stomach and it will be at least 2/3 more posts until hes immortal poop again
