Then youāre lying. Canāt have best of both worlds.
RE: Ranks of the Forum Goers: POLL
Although Iāve proven Iām capable of reaching and staying competitive in diamond, I typically choose to stay in gold because I hate being competitive.
Although Iām currently silver (bronze? Idk) due to inactivity.
Iād be willing to bet I could reach S-rank if I was willing to dedicate enough time to the game and choose not to play my fun decks. I think Iād rather kill myself though.
There is definitely a difference between the ranks.
Bronze is pretty much just new players, or ones who have missed a few seasons, because you can literally throw a potato at your computer a bunch of times and youāll eventually climb out.
Silver is for pretty casual players who donāt really care about getting better, or donāt know how I guess.(or just love to meme way too hard)
Gold has some hybrid casual/competitive players in it, they normally do want to climb out of gold, but they sometimes have mental blocks that prevent them doing well. Such as playing very nich archtypes and refusing to use certain āOpā cards.(his is by no means a bad thing if thats how they like to play)
Diamond has players who are good at the game and like to play to win (mostly). Theyāre often pretty grindy and all want to be in S because its so damn close.
S-ranker are in three categories pretty much, either Diamond players who grind and grind and grind to get from rank 1 into S (most Srankers start out like this), they normally get in towards the end of the season and chill in +100 S rank. And then thereās the really good players, who get in before half way through and are normally top 100 or more. And also thereās the memers, they usually play serious decks into S rank, then just meme for the rest of the season because S rank is a magical place where loosing doesnāt matter.
The difference between rank is significant at all parts of the ladder, even the difference between high and low S rank is pretty big.
Card collection is somewhat a factor, but not a defining one in the ladder; however higher ranked players often have fuller collections as theyāve played more (and won more) than the lower ranked ones on average.(plus higher season end rewards)
I live in silver for about half of the season, then move up to camp in gold. I just canāt force myself to compete in the meta. If I get on a lucky run, I will attempt to play it out, but it is just not fun to me to build the correct decks. I like playing against friends these daysā¦or at least I would if I had friends.
jkā¦I appreciate everyone in my friends list!
Wouldnāt recommend it, thoughā¦
I think soggy bread would be less destructive.
pfff, do you think i got into the DPL by throwing soggy bread?
or was it by throwing potatoes.
You are in DPL!?
Goshā¦
Whoād have knownā¦
How can you say youāre a regular diamond player if youāve never hit diamond lmao

You pull bread answers from thin air
rude
Oh sorry.
Hereās a breader one:

Would like to disagree with this idea that things get less casual as you go up. I for one typically make it to Diamond accidentally, then continue to spam meme decks and junkheaps on ladder.
I approve. <I <3 bread references>

I like how every thread nowadays devolves into the meme thread once someone says something funny. It makes me giggle.
Weāre doing it right.
Real talk tho.
I revisited an old alt, and I was at rank 23. I had a complete Replace Sajj deck, and it was absolutely laughable how such a bad deck steamrolled the decks that they ran (one guy played Hank Hart, Bluetip Scorpion, Black Locust, AND Skyrock Golem. In one game.). I keep this alt in Bronze for when Iām tired of meta and just want a laugh.
Same. I actually have the same thing going. I wonder if our alts will ever meetā¦
That is strangely profound.
Since the last poll, I regularly hit gold and even got to diamond once with a silly deck. Although the season just gone I was only silver. The only real difference between me hitting one tier from another that Iāve noticed is the amount of time/matches I played. Last season I didnāt play any games for about 3 out of the 4 weeks. The time I hit diamond I played 1 in every 2 days for about 3/4 games. Iāll probably hit gold again this season because Iāve set myself a restriction challenge in terms of which cards I can use, so hopefully Iāll be more engaged this season.
Personally, I think most people who can regularly play the game can hit diamond, if they have the time and want to. The only correlation that I think is there, is that people in diamond and S-rank will always be skilled/knowledgeable players, whereas below that is more of a mix bag where you can face off against people who are clearly better than their rank but arenāt trying or wanting to climb or just using meme/fun decks.
In the last 4 months Iāve been hitting Diamond w/ 30+ wins. I donāt play that much and only do 1-2 matches per day for the First Win quest.
