Question about 50 Gold Quest

Assuming having the “Deal 150 Damage”-Quest:
If the opponent General has only a few Health points left does it count if I pump up a Minion doing much more damage then needed or does the counter stop at the point where the General is dead?

Just had a match against @tm25md and he overloaded a Minion against me. I conceded early so he wasn’t able to do lethal. Now I have a bad feeling because I thought about the quest after the game.

So: Sorry if I slowed down your quest.
If not: Why doing the overload?

No need to discuss here - just a simple answer. Maybe I can learn something new.

yes, extra damage counts towards 150 damage quest completion.

OK. So again: Sorry @tm25md!

If your opponent concedes, the remaining HP is added towards the 150 damage. If you deal lethal damage to your opponent, any extra point of damage still counts towards the quest.

The thing that sucks the most about the quest is when the opponent heals.

I had a game where the opponent used 2 earth spheres and I brought him down back to 3 health and he conceded when he saw my tiger. I only gained 25 damage to general. :rage:

Please people, do not concede if play heals. At least not before your opponent queues up lethal.

If they concede on 25 though, it doesn’t count towards your damage at all.

Protip: bring a bloodtear alchemist to ping them just in case they concede early

Are you sure?

Gotta check next time, afaik you get the damage done, if it’s more than 25 and the opponent concedes.

Yeah, I went from 0 to 25.

Not sure if they patched it, but I know it happened

Protip: Never, never ever take that Quest if you want to be efficient.

With healing and all, the 150 damage to general quest may or may not need 8 games, but this is assuming there is a lot of heal and you are winning each time. This means each game you have to be able to reduce your opponents life total from 25 to 0.

The Adventurer Quest (play 8 games) is a lot more easier as long as you don’t concede early.

Then there is Assasination (Kill 50 minions) which depends a lot on the metagame. But with Lilith, Ragnora Eggs and Vetruvian Swarm you can kill 25 minions in one game, sometimes even more. It is very rare that you take longer than 8 games with it.

The only playstyle that might profit from the 150 damage to face quest is burst aggro combo that doesn’t care about removing minions like Mantra, Cass Aggro, Ragnora Eggburst and Dance of Memes.

I often have games where I win and kill only 3-5 minions. I prefer the damage quest, it is way easier done.

You still get the damage counted even if they heal. Also, if you can win 6 games in a row, it is faster than Adventurer. I like running DFC with this quest, because I can do a lot of overkill (if my opponent will let me). I also never concede, mostly because I don’t ever want to give up, but also because I might as well give the other player a chance to finish quests.

I personally disagree. I almost always finish the General health quest before 8 games. Overkill helps a lot to make up the difference though it does feel horrible having to play ten games because you lost a couple quite badly and haven’t finished the quest.

The minion one is often really nice and can be completed really quickly but sometimes it can be an artifact, mantra or spellhai deck and you get nothing for it. Sometimes you get lucky and it’s an obelysk or swarm deck but it can be pretty hit-and-miss.

Regardless of empirically measured efficiency, imo 150 damage feels better than 8 games because I have the possibility of finishing it in 5-6 games. The 8 games quest always takes… 9 games. I think. Somewhere around there. It’s the same number every time tho.
