Prismatic Bling - Fashion as the True Endgame

I know there has been some discussion on the subject, but I really wanted to press the matter further, because right now I view this system as a mere shadow of what it could be, and I would like it to be so much better.

A lot of the player base see the prismatic cloud effect as a superficial way to try to create value, and I can’t say I blame them. The blanket application of the same effect on each and every card simply fail to create the personalization and status symbol that those cards are supposed to bring to veteran players. You can just look at the success of special skins like the MK-II series, Dogehai, or the color swaps of Tigerspine and Spelljammer to see the potential of further content in this direction.

Now, I realize that, from a development point of view, bringing personality to prismatic cards is going to take some work and resources, but I can see two avenues to go towards that direction in a fairly cost-effective way.

Firstly, different prismatic effects for different factions. This only demands the creation of 6 animations and would already go a long way. I can only dream of having glitters around Lyonar, fire around Songhai, sandstorms around Vetruvian, ghosts around Abyssian, vines around Magmar and clouds with personal blizzards over Vanar, and the actual prismatic effect for Neutral. I think the coolness will justify the cost.

The other one is color swaps. I may not be very tech-aware, but I’m fairly certain that software allowing for convenient color swaps already exists. And again, this is a great tool to create graphical identities, but ones that you have to invest to get, and so may act as status symbols. Prismatic color swaps may even obey a general color scheme for each faction, so that prismatic would swap green for red in Magmar, for instance, and it would create an incentive for completionists to have all-prismatic decks.

It could also be an occasion for some world building, so that the prismatic system could be more than just ‘‘a feature that card games have’’, but have some lore built around it about different groupuscules within factions.

So yeah, go nuts. Please bring us the prismatic bling that we crave. You’ll be amazed by the lengths some people may go just to distinguish themselves.

I think we should have some different auras / symbols / colors / whatever and we can choose what to put it on

like my windblade adept could have flames around him, yours could have a prismatic aura

I wish some cards could have summoning or attacking effects. Something cards like oblivion, sky. Cliffs has. This should be a special card when opening orbs.

it would be sick to see a lyonar general open a portal for a prismatic ironcliffe to fall out of for an animation, or zendo running into the battlefield naruto style

I don’t disagree with any of this, but I’m more on the side of preferring more content in the form of cards and generals, I’m happy with my prismatics and skins.

It’s just side wish for me… I think the game needs a single player or Co op campaign a alternate way to aquire gold and spirit then hopefully finally get the Android version out. But to u have to agree prismatic are rather lackluster and something you’d never grind or waste spirit to make.

Depends on the person, I know people who love their Prismatics Lookin at you,
Freud
but personally I’ve crafted 2 prismatic Blood Echoes because… well, a board full of prismatic Sarlac brings me infinite joy.

Sure, could be better, but fixing cosmetics would be very low on my list of priorities if I were a Dev.

The card itself looks good but the aura is not.
Reworking each card animations and effects just for prismatic sounds like a big job.
What i want to see is a specific aura for each faction, like flame aura for Songhai, snowflakes for Vanar, holy light Lyonar, dark aura for Abyssian, and the others. For neutral cards they can keep it rainbow.

I want different skins for minions. Lots of them and be able to earn them/craft them. I would be so happy with that. Prismatic means nothing to me- I dust if I don’t need it every time.

Yet, some of those implementations could probably be done with minimal effort, and would already go a long way. All those little things you should do but keep postponing, they eventually add up. And in the meanwhile, we have a suboptimal system, and it’s all the more frustrating to know that some of it could easily be improved.

Of course, the prismatic system has no influence on the core gameplay, but those peripheric features, like the support of live Twitch streams for instance, really makes the whole experience much better. And I think we can, and should, ask for quality in every aspect of development because we love the game and wish it to be the best it can possibly be.

I think, that, on top of having absolutely no appeal at all, prismatic have no value at the current moment, no bling value, nothing. Even the cards sometimes when I opened boosters I wouldn’t notice when I get a prismatic. It’s that bland.
Having units on the board is such a plus for these kind of cosmetics. But CPG took the easy cash in way, prefering to take the quick cash instead of the endgame value.
If I was playing HS like a madman, I would litterally hoard for the gold cards, they are so pretty, it’s a delight for the eyes.

Recolors, different animations, better particles, you name it! The possibilities are endless… And I’m not in their brainstorming team and these are all better ideas than what they did. CPG need to step up their game instead of selling recolors for 15 bucks
