Pixel Art Preview: Grandmaster Nosh-Rak

He really does, doesn’t he?
I’m an old Protoss main. He really looks like a High Templar with a Psi Blade

This is what one more or less looks like (pulled from an official cinematic for those of you who don’t know. He’s kinda chilling right now, normally generates psionic lightning when he’s fighting.

The Dioltas nerf tho ;_;

i dont know, that high templar looks a whole lot like prophet of the white palm

Yeah, High Templar is actually more acurate.

(Most of my experience with Starcraft was cheesing people with mass marines in 3v3 and absorbing their delicious-delicious tears :stuck_out_tongue:)

It is going to give your General Flying. It is. I guarantee. It’s going to happen. I promise.

please?

Oh wow, didn’t realize how similar those are. Dayuuuum

My experience was wrecking poor terran BioBalls with my balanced Protoss Zealot/Stalker/Colossus/HT Deathballs

Blast Locust confirmed

Turn the enemy general into a 2/2 dervish. GG.

The grandmasters have really weird names:

Zir:
The name of a Black Dragon in Welsh Mythology. Pretty cool, but not very fitting of a warrior in golden Armour

Zendo:
A type of Buddhist Monastery, as well as the name of an influential Buddhist writer. This one makes a lot of sense since Zendo influences the opponent general’s mind, and control of actions and state of mind are crucial to Buddhist philosophy.

Variax:
A brand of electric guitars. Okay… I guess this fits in with the “sound/ metal” theme that Abyssian has (Klaxon, Echoing Shriek, etc.) but it seems a bit random.

Nosh-Rak:
Honestly, this is the most obscure and awesome name amongst all the grand masters. “Nosh” in Yiddish means snack or eat, and “Rak” means selfish, or cancerous. This unit is literally called CANCER EATER! CANCER FREAKIN EATER! How fitting is this name!? That’s a rhetorical question; this name is amazing. And don’t tell me that this is unintentional. These two words appear right next to each other in this book on the Yiddish language: https://books.google.ca/books?id=nNpXzP8z040C&pg=SL1-PA694&lpg=SL1-PA694&dq=nosh+rak&source=bl&ots=6QJjmWM9zm&sig=_M_kmCf9yj2RvLKwQgtTrCg90_M&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiKv5Tqqs_QAhWE2YMKHeO4Aa44ChDoAQgaMAA#v=onepage&q=nosh%20rak&f=false

CANCER EATER!!!

I will never get tired of that.

Opening Gambit: When this card is summoned, destroy all dervish type minions that you control and this minion gains 2 attack for each dervish destroyed.

#Vetruvianneedsmoreburst2016

Yooo, that would be both funny, yet so hard to actually trigger

I edited to “you control”. I was thinking yugioh and said your side of the field when writing the OG haha. It wouldn’t be that hard to get 6+ attack in a dervish deck especially if the game is going on that long.
There might actually be a reason to run windstom obelysk too since you want to maximize damage by having your dervishes attack then be sacrificed.

this looks sweeeeeeeeeeet

So, I didn’t reply immediately after seeing it, because I had to do a doubletake over how cool the spritework in. Hoping he’s as sweet as Zendo and Z’ir- also inb4 he is, and then gets nerfed to the ground for flimsy reasons because he was a good Vetruvian card, and we just can’t have that. :stuck_out_tongue: Much like Nimbus, this is likely to be a day 1 craft for me if it isn’t total garbage.
