The objective of the deck is to build a strong board around the General, using hallowed ground to buff Excelsious and keep make your provoke minions more annoying, as well as to resummon (hopefully) a strong minion through Vale Ascension. I’m considering replacing Aperion’s Claim with Call to Arms.
So far I’m 5/5 with this deck out of 10 games played.
For a control finisher, I’d swap out the extremely expensive easily eliminated excelsiouses for a third prominence and a third Arclyte regalia.
Without Ziran as your general and without an absolute ton of healing cards, the sunforge lancers aren’t going to be able to do anywhere near their best here, so I’d toss them in favor of…this is a big fat deck full of expensive cards, so maybe circles of life. Those seem to make sense for control.
Also, with the sunforge lancers gone, the sunrise clerics could perhaps be replaced by azure heralds or sundrop elixirs. More burst healing and you’re not commited to standing in one spot. And unless you go the sundrop route, you might drop vale ascension for something else, since resurrecting a sunrise cleric or azure herald would blow.
It probably wouldn’t be a bad idea to work a couple sun blooms somewhere in here either.
Anyone else have any thoughts?
Thanks for the suggestions, I should probably change the general from Brome, I think I’ve misunderstood his purpose in thinking he’s a control general, he’s more tempo based.
Can’t tell you anything yet, we have not seen any meta decks.
As it looks right now your curve is over the top and you rely too much on the opponent getting pressured.
But you do forget plasma storm and songhai.
Wait heal? Why are you touching so many architypes? Needs a fix in my opinion you’ll get shut down by faster decks before 7 mana
Mmmm you’re right, I’ve forgotten a lot about deckbuilding in my absence from the game, I’ve definitely missed the mark with this deck. Probably using the wrong general as well.
