Oh, very interesting. You learn something new every day.
Not Duelyst related, but hey it's Bamco and tactics!
When I was a kid I loved the anime!! Btw, the game looks great from the screenshots
.
Oh rly? Never knew that! I enjoyed Tamagochi when I was a kid! Or actually Chinese copy of it.
Speaking of Digimon, I know what it is, but I never watched anime or played related games, so most of my knowledge is theoretical
Is there any article with this games mechanics?
The old anime have aged pretty well so you could always check them out, Season 1 (“Adventure”) and Season 3 (“Tamers”) are still amazing. Season 2 was never my cup of tea but some people like it. Season 4 had some cool moments and then I lost track of the shows… btw, I call them seasons but the only real connection is between 1 and 2, Tamers and beyond are completely different stories, characters and worlds, they even change fundamental aspects of the lore.
Games… uh, that’s a hard one because they went Nintendo hand-held exclusive for a while and I’ve never owned a hand-held console. My favorite game in the franchise so far is Digital Card Battle for the original Playstation, but I realize its graphics are unwatchable for modern generations (not me though, I grew up with big fat pixels and low poly counts).
not much is known so far, but here’s what Google suggests:
I own PC with lots of emulators and my mentality allows me to pirate games, so if they are not Japanese only (which many awesome tactical series are) I’m OK.
I’m actually surprised by the fact that many tactical titles were never released outside of Japan. Examples are Shining Force 3 and onwards, Langrisser 3 and onwards, Valkyria Chronicles 3 and some Fire Emblem titles.
What, Americans and Europeans tend to prefer stupid platformers by Japanese opinion? I just don’t get it…
It’s nice that there are some enthusiasts who actually translate some of such games.
idk about the franchise itself, but its origin is not a ripoff. Digimon started as a version of tamagotchi oriented for boys.
I remember watching digimon during my childhood…mainly data squad.Good memorys
They also didn,t completely butcher the dub like they usualy did with anime…data squads main villain was literally a human with a god complex who commited digimon genocide(permanent erasure) and wanted to abuse them to conquer the world
I always got the poops in Digimon World so I hope I can do better with this.
the poop digimon that eat poop. it’s just straight up wrong. (also make ur digimon poop on the toilet to keep that from happening)
There was a toilet!?
Yeah. It took me forever to learn about it too lmao
there was also this item called porta potty. lets ur mon poop anywhere. strangely, it’s shaped like a urinal and grade school cloudfrog pretty much thought it was okay to poop on urinals. i am so glad i never put that misinformation into practice.
Digimon World was corrupting our little minds with digital deceptions! Or maybe they just didn’t have the proper art assets or whatever. I might’ve ended up raising poops all the time, but I can proudly say I’ve never dropped a deuce in a urinal.
Reminds me of South Park episode on 9/11.
Yes. Lmao.

I played some of Digimon World 4 but could not progress decently. It felt like I was missing a fundamental knowlege of how the game works, always had to walk longass distances, getting lost and all, could never digivolve, and didnt really know what to do. should’ve read a walkthrough
seems like a few of you guys had a hard time with the “raising” or virtual pet aspect of the old games, as did I.
Truth be told they felt more like a chore in that sense because getting the most powerful Mons required literally flawless raising. Thankfully Survive seems to be all about the battling and questing and cuts away with the raising aspect.
