New Tournament Series - Poll for Starting times

Hey guys & gals GrincherZ here xD!

I’m organizing a new tournament series to be played on Fridays! Please vote on a starting time that works for you.

Format

  • This tournament will be single elimination.
  • All matches will be best-of-5. The first player to win 3 games within the match is considered the winner of the match and advances.
  • Each player must submit decklists from four unique generals from four unique factions prior to the event.
  • At the beginning of each match each player bans one of the other player’s generals.
  • A player must win one game with each of their three decks to win the match.
  • When a player wins a game, the deck used by the winning player cannot be used for the remainder of the match.
  • The losing player can keep the same deck used or switch to a different one of their choice.
  • Players will be told what generals their opponent has available, but they won’t know which general is picked until both players have picked.

This tournament will take place each Friday for the next 6 weeks!

Dates

  • September 22nd
  • September 29th
  • October 6th
  • October 13th - such spooky
  • October 20th
  • October 27th

A point system will be created to rank finalists and runner ups in order to have an invitational in November. Once a time is decided on (24 hours after this posting) I will create a battlefy page and post it up.

I hope you all are able to make it.

so i cant bring both keeper vaath and dance of memes. flsbadman.

And I thought bringing two decks was bad, this bizarre format is what steered me away from tournaments for so long.

But to each their own I guess, thanks for putting the effort in to host, I doubt I will be up for this format.

I agree, although at this point beggars can’t be choosers. Simply having events is good.

This is the international standard for online CCG’s these days. It was also the “weird” format of the DWC. I am continuing the theme so people can get used to thinking about decks in a competitive setting again for a new year.

The series does encourage that participants be well-rounded, so I can appreciate a format like this.

I’ll have to see if I have time to participate. Seems fun. :grinning:

I get that. Just figured I may as well try to say something, since if enough people express displeasure sometimes the standard can change.

You’re right, I just don’t really approve of the naysaying of the format when it is very widely accepted as a balanced approach, when participation has been down across the board for all Duelyst events.
