I just signed up to duelyst. , wondering if the game has trading ot a chat built into socialize
also wondering if there is a tournament integration system of any sort?
How do people progress, for example?

There is no trading
There is a chat in the form of friending
Tournaments are often posted at forums and or reddit.

For the social chat, you could check out the official discord or the general thread (I don’t know what the current name of it is) on the forums.
