New Effect: CONSUME!

Hello! I have been thinking about a new effect which could potentially be added into the game and obviously as the title states, its CONSUME.

Now what I imagined for ‘consume’ to be was for units to be able to gain the health and attack of units they kill. So they could start off as weak units but as the game progresses, they slowly accumulate stats to become a huge threat if not dealt with. Additionally, a second feature could also be added, allowing units with ‘consume’ to attack friendly units in order to buff themselves further.

Initially, I thought this would be a lovely addition as a magmar specific effect (you know… monsters and stuff) but obviously this might prove to be an unfair advantage (maybe) so I thought this could be a new set of legendaries or epics called gluttonous beasts similarly to the sisters set (one for each faction and one neutral). This way it can be played throughout all factions and bring a new level of strategic play.

Extending from the beasts theme, if there were to be like the sisters (i.e one minion per faction), they could be designed after beasts or animals which represent each faction. For example:
LYONAR: Lion
MAGMAR: Lizard (Dinosaurs ;D )
VANAR: Wolf
SONGHAI: Tiger or Fox
ABYSSIAN: Snake
VETRUVIAN: Bird
NEUTRAL: Human? lol

But yeah, that was my idea. If anyone can think of more unique effects for each faction, then maybe this can be magmar specific and we can help revolutionize this wonderful game

There’s one, actually.

I meant one that requires using up moves and attacks to gain stats primarily on enemies instead of a one off opening gambits. But all the better for that minion to exist as it can be potentially reworked or be combined with ‘consume’ so units wont instantly die when summoned as they would already have leeched stats!

I remember the first time Deepfire Devourer was played against me when I didn’t have removal. It was something like a 12/12 and I was like holy crap. I boxed it in so that it couldn’t reach me and then it killed everything because it had frenzy. Extremely odd that an Abyssian card has frenzy, but its not like the card is op or anything.

Thats super snowbally. It would either become super strong super quick, or immediatly be destroyed.

Have you read the codex? Thats something the inxikrah do (sorta abyssian)

Sounds cool, but it won’t be very useful for the same reason that Grow isn’t useful; removal and dispel is too easily accessible, and the minion would never really get the chance to live out its fantasy

Ah, I see you play gwent as well.

Consume could be a legit mechanics tho. It doesn’t have to consume minions from the board - it can consume cards from players’ hand and graveyard also.
