Mistakes Were Made - Revert The Set

“Hey guys, we must apologize for big mistake we done in the past. We didn’t mean to give you couple of playable, competitive-worthy cards for only 3900 gold, that wasn’t the plan. Now we don’t have ‘design space’ to make a big set where you will have to crack around 150-200 boosters before you hopefully open something of relative strength and same amount; we strongly believe this is the right way for you guys. So with all of this in mind, unfortunately we have to replace strong cards in small sets with some useless crap you won’t be able to use effectively anymore. Nonono, no compensation or full disenchant value involved, as we don’t believe compensations are fun. And don’t forget your free common keys!”

I feel very very sorry for people who bought that set with real money, but Counterplay most likely doesn’t. I bought it with gold and still feel its a shame - if I knew beforehand there will be no strong cards I probably wouldn’t.

If you guys decided to kill F2P players (like H********e did), you are on the right path now. Otherwise no. I never thought Duelyst was greed-corrupted with its pretty loyal small sets economy (and never said bad words about that), but now I do.

Maybe I missed something important? Prove me wrong pls, as I still can’t believe what happened

The next set I believe is already confirmed to be shimzar style. Have hope

Prove yourself right, then we can talk. What is your argument? What is CPG supposed to do?

Wow, would you guys ACTUALLY prefer an imbalanced game over “losing your investment”? Get over your pay/grind-to-win mentality. Expansions should not offer powercreep, but viable sidegrades.
You would’ve bought the expansion anyways - and there is still a ton of powerful cards in there for all factions.
Take your salt and entitlement somewhere else, I really don’t want to risk the off-chance of CPG listening to you and changing their approach to balancing - which is already very hands-off.

Although I criticized CPG on a number of things in the past, I don’t really understand the argument behind this post. Is it a complaint because a few cards which cannot be disenchanted have been nerfed?

If so, I think the tone is totally unjustified. Both RotB and AB are still very good sets, with a few staple cards. Also, they enable some unique decks which you cannot just build without those cards.

Should CPG refund customers for the nerfed cards? Maybe, but I would say it’s much better that they just release new cards with more attention to their design in the future.

All this for meltdown, nosh rak and enfeeble?

All pretty justified nerf (ok, nosh rak is not really, but it’s far far away from the “unfair” range).

Considering the behavior and request made by these “customers”, I think it’s better both for CPG and the Community not to refund them but just to … lose them

Normally I would just delete this thread as it does not serve to promote discussion. Rant threads are not allowed on the forums, that said due to the nature of this one I feel it’s best to be left up, however I will still be locking it for the reason mentioned above.
