The book is written by Patrick Hoban, arguably the best YGO player of all time, with 21 YCS tops, 8 YCS wins, multiple ARG tops and Wins, Multiple Worlds invites and an American Nationals winner.

Easily the most influential player of all time, getting people to find that cards like Vanity’s Emptines exsists and getting multiple cards hit on the F&L list.

The book goes greatly into psychology so you can find out to use your oppenent’s biases to win, create a testing circle, identify your oppenent’s skill level and even get them to fall for your bluffs.

It teaches you the golden ratio of deck building and how to quickly identify the best deck. Those are just some of the things that the book tells and this knowledge can be applied to any card game.

It’s a really good read.

Ascension Sajj was top tier right after the ToM patch. Next month it became crap tier.

During the Saurian Finality meta ArtifactHai was the second most played deck next to Finality yet so many people were playing it not because it was broken, but because it was one of the only decks in the game to counter the Degenerate deck that was dominating the Ladder at that time. The fact that after Finality got nerfed everybody quit playing ArtiHai just proves that Arthai was not OPed.

Also, ArtifactHai never was and is very unlikely to ever become the №1 deck in the game do to how simple it is to counter it.

I never felt like Ascension Sajj was ever any good, and GGH said as much in the power ranking on DuelystCentral. It only seemed good because it hard countered decks with no reach.

It was a deck that could end a game in a few turns if it drew correctly and otherwise was really good at winning in the long game.

From personal experience, I found it pretty easy to beat and only ever lost to it when testing different decks from the ones I usually use.

Ascension sajj was shit unless you played a deck with no ping. Even then, kaleos was really popular up top at the time, and it preyed on such decks

Sajj could easily play through ping, I have a replay of me getting EMP’d 3 times and I still won as Sajj, Sajj just rellyed too heavily on oppening correctly.

Zendo shut her down hard, lad, and he was very common up top. Starhorn often just killed her irrespective of trial, as he outraced regardless. Even with a neurolink start, it was pretty easy to beat her so long as you positioned properly

Those where only applicable if they didn’t oppened Neuro + Lark + Artifact from experience, Zendo costed too much and Sajj played away from Starhorn’s reach so him comboing you lategame rarely mattered.

If you didn’t oppen those it could often be another scenario.

S1 is a great acheivement and I’m not taking that away, but (1) that was early season/ early expansion (S + upper diamond was very much akin to what you see in late season gold due to testing), and (2) S1 - especially early season S1 - is almost always more of a function of your skills as a player and less due to the quality of your deck. There have been tons of meme decks which manage to streak to S1 in past seasons. Impressive, but by no means a comprehensive indicator of deck power. Ascension pre-nerf was t2 at best, and I stand by that statement.
