So I’m trying to make a deck centered around immune (to general) minions using sand howler, silver tongue corsair, and scions second wish (with a little quartermaster gaujj in there just for @isgopet
) and I’m having a hard time of it. http://manaspring.ru/deckbuilder/vetruvian/#MTosMzoyMDA5NiwzOjIwMDc2LDM6MjEwLDM6MTAwMDksMjoxMTA4MQ== there’s the minimum I teched in for the deck. How would you go about making it better?
Making a new deck
I’d start by refining the concept. Gauj and Corsair have anti synergy with Second Wish, since they already can’t take damage from generals.
If these minions are a part of the concept, perhaps switch to Lyonar for Aegis Barrier. If not, perhaps finding other minions for Second Wish. I’d love to see it applied to a Bluetip Scorpion who’s health has been boosted
second wish is to make sand howler a menace. With how many single target removal spells out there (abyssian and magmar) you’d be surprised at how scary it can seem.
Sure, but why have a card in your deck if its only synergy is with one other card? You want all of your cards to synergize together nicely so that you never have a bad hand.
I think value trades or early dispel baits at the start would be synergize well.
Primus Shieldmasters (cuz my Koi explanation)
Obelysks and/or Maws
Pax
Falcius
Primus Fist and/or Mystics maybe, dunno
It’ll synergize with Maws
Maws everywhere!

Since the deck’s focused around minion synergy, theoretically, second wish would enable some removal cards to be buffed as well (dancing blades for example). Lyonar’s definitely a good pick, and I’ll try crafting some barriers when I can
I actually used maws to my advantage when trying out the deck on ladder. I lost the games, but I feel that this has enough potential to work
You forgot Koi (that battlepet)
It can be applied to any minion, so by that logic it has synergy with nearly every minion EXCEPT the ones he’s using as the core of his deck
I find that it’s independent streak tends to trade into minions when I want it to hit the general instead. Feels bad, but I can’t keep the little guy alive long enough to justify him
Might I also suggest Cosmic Flesh? When applied to a minion that the General can’t damage its extremely annoying, and difficult to escape.
I’m a vet main so I’m trying to focus on the cards that Vetruvian has available. Can’t help it if vet only has 3 attack buff spells (one of which fits with the theme
)
Then perhaps it’s just not a good concept for this faction
You have to adjust your thinking. Rather than it fitting every minion except, maybe its about making EVERY minion immune to general attacks
(Also, Koi + Cosmic Flesh
Fantastic idea to use Cosmic Flesh @whyb0t)
Personally, I agree with whyb0t about using Lyonar instead. If you want to stick with Vet, that’s cool, I just feel Aegis Barrier and Prism Barrier provide more protection and annoyance for your opponent.
For playing Vet, Cosmic Flesh is a good card to combo with your minions. Adding provoke to a sticky minion makes it even more difficult to deal with. Also, as memey as it is, Inner Oasis is also a good option to make your minions even more sticky (plus the added card draw is useful).
Your view is more positive but mine doesn’t use cards that lower in value when applied to our concept
? What do you mean?
Otherwise, some more minion that could be in the deck depending on how you want it to turn out: Chassis of Mechazor (anti-spells), Sunsteel Defender and Night Watcher (Forcefield).
All of them benefit well from buff spells, for what it’s worth.
If you apply 2nd Wish to a minion that already doesn’t take damage from generals, you’re losing out on value that the card normally provides. You don’t wanna have 2nd Wish in hand when all of your minions are already immune to general attacks.
Personally I think the deck should run heavy AOE, you wanna keep their board clear so that they can’t trade their minions into yours. Your minions have lower stats due to their abilities, so to get value you need to pull removal cards. Eventually they’ll run out.
