Magmar deck concept: Grow Apex

I’ve been thinking of creating a post that contains a deck for each faction that uses their respective Grandmaster, which is why I originally wanted to wait to post this, but a recent match inspired me to want to make this concept work (to an extent). The deck plays off of the fact that grow minions are typically slower to play, yet get a huge pay off due to Moloki Huntress. However, it is typically difficult to play Moloki without having a grow minion on board, making it harder to get a lot of value out of it. It would be much easier if there was a way to, I don’t know, summon a lot of grow minions at once. Hence the idea of Grow Apex.

I am not really experienced with apex lists, but I would greatly appreciate any help to refine this list .

I don’t see the use in moloki huntress, just not a great card overall. Probably replace w keeper of the vale?

It looks like Moloki Huntress is what Evolutionary Apex is supposed to use in order to give Juggernaught and Kraigon their Grow effects instantly. correct me if I’m wrong @akurane

In any deck using Apex though, I’d recommend some Tectonic Spikes to prevent Post-Apex-Need-Increased-Cards Syndrome (P.A.N.I.C.S)

Yeah, moloki is there to hello get immediate value out of grow minions (particularly kraigon) to help get immediate value. The struggles that I’ve been having is a.) What grow minions to run, b.) How many spells to run, and c.) How many early game minions (2 cost minions) to run.

Comodo hunter is a good early game minion to run in an apex deck(though not 2-cost). It can be played on curve, but with Apex you bypass it’s OG and get a decent minion without disadvantage. What do you think about it?

I wouldn’t play Moloki. For the lategame it’s kinda win-more. And playing it only for Gro it’s kinda overkill.
I also wouldn’t play Elu without any buff and healing cards or in Keeper decks. Well - this deck is for shure far away of being a Keeper deck (@tellmywife), so… well… for the rush - I see.

It is kinda pointless to make a big minion grow quicker.
With Apex you could just have another big minion instead.

Have you tried the simple Moloki + Godhammer combo in other decks?

I’ve tried a moloki hammer flood list before, although I haven’t tried the list recently. Looking back at the original concept for my list, I can see how Moloki isn’t really optimal in the list (not a lot of targets for the effect, usually on targets where the buff doesn’t really matter - except for with Kraigon/General). I’ll probably scrap the iea and come back to it when their are more/better grow minions to run .
