From an outsider : Italy is my favourite country when going abroad (among several dozen I’ve done).
Already been there 6/7 times and was always a pleasure, from North to South, people, food, history, places and art … pure delight. From what I’ve seen and experienced, quality of life is different between North and South.
There was a (now dead) comedian with very dark humour that wrote :
“Italy is a nice country, there is North Italy where are living the Northern Italians, and South Italy, where are dying the Southern Italians.”

I don’t know if we are many, but I can try to satisfy your curiosity. Sorry for brevity, but I’m currently travelling and on my phone.
Personally, I think Italian people are very lucky. From north to south, Italy is an amazing place to live, with excellent weather, fine arts and awesome food. I think people are very kind and open too, so it’s also a very nice place to visit. I have traveled a lot and I lived in Germany for a while. There are many great place around, but I still think Italy is the best place to live.
Yes, there are many differences between north and south. I don’t want to discuss politics, but in brief the south is better for the weather while the north is richer and more developed. Feel free to ask any question you have about Italy!

Wow, I expected people to be more reluctant to talk about Italy, but thank you for answering!
The country sounds pretty great to me though I will probably never leave the US in my lifetime (due to crippling poverty), I just hope it is able to stay great and preserve its culture/history in front of the many issues affecting most European countries at the moment.
My finally question in regards to Italy then is: If you have ever traveled to other countries, how would you describe the differences between Italy and those other countries? I ask this because there are many countries that are great in their own ways and I am curious how Italy does this other than what is most commonly known about the country such as art.

It is likely Europeans would have a better idea about the status of Italian culture and history than some conspiracy theory extremist website. Travel more, read newspapers.

This youtube channel has stuff up like “Why women destroy nations” or “Mass rape in Cologne Germany: Refugees still welcome!” There was never a “mass rape” in Cologne.
I don’t know what else to say than don’t inform yourself by watching sketchy youtube channels. Trulster’s advice is a start.
The Great Replacement and Defend Europe mission is propaganda by racists and Nazis. There is some German movement involved in latter which is under observation by the German equivalent of the FBI.
Yes, there is a big influx of refugees coming to Europe. Germany took 1 million of them in 2016. That’s 1/80 of the whole population. Don’t know how the refugees will replace the “German” people though. Whole Syria has only 20 millions. Still not enough to replace the Germans.
The US is the country that profited so much from immigration and is the embodiment of an immigration country. Look at your history and you should understand best how it works. Where is the German culture of the over 5,5 millions of Germans immigrating to the US? Not there, they assimilated. It is what most people do.

You might find this amusing, but I believe the major difference between Italy and many of the other places which I visited is food. Food in Italy is totally integrated in everyday life and people really talk a lot about food. I’m always surprised of how lackluster are malls when it comes to food outside of Italy.
Not all Italian people are good cooks (I’m not 
), but most Italian people are very well-educated and exigent about food. They want high quality and a range of different tastes. In other countries which I visited, food is often seen as necessary to survive, but not as a pleasure.
When it comes to culture, there is no big difference between northern Italy and northern Europe in general. I hope this answers your question!

I think I’m too fat to go to Italy now because once I’m there, the obesity will finally claim me, but I am glad you enjoy life there! I sometimes actually wonder if it is just a secret DisneyLand since it always sounds increasingly mystical every time I hear about it.
