Uuh… Hi…
This time, I wanted to build something around what makes Abyssian… Well… Abyssian… Something unique to them, something… That no other faction can replicate. So I came up with this: (Saberspine Tiger is Blistering Skorn)

If there’s something this deck is good at is at keeping you alive in this aggressive meta.
Backstory:
Usually, when you think about Abyssian the things that come to your mind are wraithlings, sacrifices, bring back the dead and Shadow Crêpes, but guess what? That’s not all what Abyssian can do. They have another play style that no one has noticed nor has bothered to use. Personally, I haven’t seen a deck built around it since I began playing (1 whole year) and that’s Offensive Healing: Deal damage while healing at the same time. I think that’s what the devs tried to emphasize with the addition of Kelaino. There are 5 cards in total (pre-expansion) with this thematic:
- Shadow Dancer
- Spectral Blade
- Void pulse
- Shadow Sister Kelaino
- Breath of the Unborn
They are usually used separately but never all of them in a single deck : Void pulse in Aggro/Burn decks, Shadow Dancer in Deathwatch decks, Kelaino is an auto-include in every deck, Spectral Blade in Aggro/Control decks and Breath of the unborn barely sees play. The closest are Deathwatch decks, but they don’t focus on healing, just get a swarm going on and ping the opponent to death.
With the release of Blistering Skorn, first thing that came up in my mind was Kelaino. The synergy here is insane but not limited to her, wraithlings synergyze as well. I say that Abyssian is the faction that benefits the most from this card.
Alright, alright… Get into the deck already…
Card Choices
-
Nether Summoning : The deck relies too much on Kelaino, Shadow dancer and Hula-Hoop Priestess, so I included Nether summoning to bring them back when they die. Not to mention, you can use it to get interesting minions from your opponent.
-
Shadow Nova: What?! Lilithe… With Shadow Nova?! What the heck?! I know, I know… Thing is: no one expects Shadow Nova when playing against Lilithe, so they don’t try to avoid it. You can take advantage of this to cast a powerful Nova before the expansion comes… It’s also a late-game win condition.
-
Sojourner : I chose it mainly to have a good looking curve + Kelaino appreciates the attack. If you don’t like it, replace it with L’Kian or Rite of the Undervault and mess up the beautiful curve.
Candidates:
The deck is still a work in progress. For now, I only threw a bunch of cards together to see how they work (but the results have been pretty good, not gonna lie
).
These are cards that could work pretty well with deck but I haven’t been able to include because limits… Suggestions are appreciated
-
Grasp of agony : Deal damage to multiple enemies at once + Daemonic Lure + Extra damage with Shadow Nova + Kelaino.
-
Saberspine Tiger + Swarm with Hula-Hoop Priestess + Dethfire Crescendo: Could be a pretty good finisher.
-
Vorpal Reaver: Pop it and then Blistering Skorn while having a Dancer on the field (or just go for the kill directly and mess up the fun
) -
Bloodtear Alchemist : 1 Damage + Kelaino = 1 health for you

I’m waiting for the final version of the deck before I write these.
Changelog:
- 4/8/2016: -1 Breath of the Unborn, -3 Sojourner, -2 Shadow Nova, +2 Rite of the Undervault, +2 Vorpal Reaver, +1 Blistering Skorn, +1 Ephemeral Shroud. Replaced Sojourners with 2 Rite, reliable card draw in lategame. Vorpal Reaver because the deck lacked that late-game power, good combination with Nether
What do you think?

. I think u could drop novas for a third priestess and a third chaos elemental. Also since u are not running any buffs ( reflection/crescendo) I would recommend 1 Rite+2 sojourners for the variety in drawing options. Since sojourners are a lot worse drawing machines without buffs due to zenrui mostly
