Life in the six factions

The Vetruvian seem more Prussian/German to me. With all of the World War One imagery in Duelyst, it would make sense that this newly formed superpower that has been denied certain privileges, despite their technological and military might, would want to wage war on the Aestari, who symbolize France (their capital is literally called the Grand Trianon. The Vetruvian’s conflict with the Aestari would perfectly mirror the conflict between Germany and France in WWI. Just replace “mana crystals” with “diplomatic power” and “Rasha” with “Otto Von Bismarck,” and the Vetruvian empire is nearly identical to Germany during and before WWI.

P.s. I still need to do that post on WWI symbolism in Duelyst.

Rasha was an Aestari military leader however.

Okay. Form what I read about the Sisters’ lore, they are beings that are “mind controlled” by the Weeping Tree to accomplish his will. Some didn’t do as he wanted and Demise approached.
EYOS IS GOOD.
Well, that is if you ignore the Abyssian Sister that basically was sent to awaken, well, the Abyssian. And that is not good.

This doesn’t make any sense XD The damn tree at first seems to keep balance and then it wants to destroy it.

Or maybe… Maybe he wants to destroy Aperion ? But for what reasons…

All I can now be sure of is that Lyonar seemed to have some sort of conflict where Highmayne’s brothers died and he then claimed the throne that he now uses to expand through conquest.
And that Songhai, is, wait for it, good ? In the sense that THEY, with Alkyone’s help, “delayed the Demise”.
I’d love to say the same about Magmar but… They just didn’t even find her, allowing the Demise to take a step forward.

Maybe the Demise is the end of Eyos. It could be good or bad, depending on what are Eyos’ goals, but according to Maia’s lore her desire to awaken Aperion to prevent destruction in the North was against Eyos’ will, and according to Keilano’s lore the “great one”, which is most likely Eyos’ mind, wanted to unite the abyssians under its will to conquer the surface.

Even restoring the Magmar to their previous integrity and passiveness and reminding the Vetruvians of their spirituality may be a plot to take control of them, since they have the greatest link to the First Blooming and hold both power and knowledge that may be of vital importance. Making Argeon stop warmongering could be meant to remove him from the main seat of events.

I am still unsure about feeding the pride of a Songhai man I can only assume is Kaleos. Maybe the Twilight Springs are vital to Eyos’ plot due to their unique nature that seems to be independant from its star power, and it wanted to pull of a"we can rule together" plot after rallying the Abyssians?

However this undead divine dictatorship may be the lesser of two evils, as Songweaver Euridice’s prophecy (I may have misspelled her name) showed a future with three thousand years of war and another with only a hundred years and a new empire arising from the ashes, abd she choose the later. Or maybe the first part of the prophecy was a lie on Eyos’ part.

Whatever the truth is, Eyos is darker than the codex leads us to think.

well from the duelyst twitter the next codex chapters will include the vetruvian wars, so i doubt it will be about the vetruvians trying to convert everybody.

I personally think that the magamar aspects are just another nation. And the reason there fighting in the trial of champions is like every other nation. resources.

It would be great to know more about these wars, as well as Sajj’s status as “the first true scion in centuries”.

Another thing I’m curious about is that Faye appearantly used to be a Hawkwolf before she was transformed into a human bloodborn, or at least the snippets of lore from her images and general skins make it sound like that. If that’s true, I wonder how that has influenced her perspective of the world and the conflicts she has to fight in. Did she originally resent the person or being who transformed her because she was no longer able to fly? Does she still? She is obviously intelligent enough to act as a general, but does she think more like a human or a bird of prey? And how did she deal with her life becoming much more complicated after her transformation and becoming a bloodborn?

The Magmar aspects aren’t a nation though, they’re 12 creatures. They might assist others but they’re not a nation in themselves.

The only one of the 12 aspects that even resembles a leader of a nation is Vaath. Starhorn is more like a wandering Questor/Jedi/Knight/Ronin/… and it doesn’t sound like he has any ties to a particular locale so far.

There’s Valknu, who advises the Emperor currently (and I have a strong suspision he’s going to end up killed). The other Magmar are scattered all over the world. Only Starhorn and Vaath are mentioned in the Taygete’s lore as being overly ambitious, the other aspects are still focused on integrity (as far as we know).

As far as the lore goes the only thing that passes for a society is “One Nation under Vaath”. That’s about it.

That is what i meant when i said the magmar the nation Vaath leads. Also i doubt Valknu is still with Saragosa because the next chapter in the codex is called rhashas betrayal, and with rasha’s tome being in vetruvian territory, i don’t think the astari are still a thing in the current point in time the game takes place.

I always drew connections with other lores: Vetruvians with Broken Lords from Endless Legend and Freemen from Dune, and Protoss from StarCraft.

But man, Abyssian are just hawt- finally! necromancer girls who aren’t vampires/rotting corpses/old hags! Hahaha!

I really like Abyssian as they seem to be kind of dark sisterhood-like cult! That’s ultra neat. Maybe there are some dark lords, but even most of the higher tier cards I’ve encouraged so far, are mostly either female or monsters… This is food for thoughts: does males pay any significant role in the Abyssian culture? Or are they mostly workers or servants?
Maybe that’s the taboo there? Social ladder status of men?

Can’t really wait for the upcoming lore!

Protoss are the best. Especially the Nerazim.

En taro Adun.

Ohhhh maaaaaah gawwwwwd, Probe!
Sigh, such a familiar sound

May I know where did you read the lores from? i know it’s a stupid question but i’ve read through the 15 chapters. Yet, I have not found a single hint of such characters and their complex histories and interactions.

Btw, I think the upcoming lore will tell a tale on how the bs from the songhai nation is siphoned to the imperium’s water supply and make all the vetruvians lack the energy to do anything out of their reach.

Also there is a huge uproar of Krons, Steves, Zen Rui’s running around in the form a spirit.

And Songhais are walking around all the nations and ******** on them with their excess saberspine seals.

This made me smile more than it should have

There is a link to a site with all the card lores further above in this thread. In my post I was refeering mostly to the lore of the Seven Sisters and their friend/ally/keeper/herald Mogwai.

I admit I’m still curious about Sajj being “the first true scion in centuries”, as well as how close to human she actually is. i think the fact that you can get emoticons for her like everybody else implies she also has emotions like the others, though we don’t know to what degree. It would be great if if we learned more about her and the other bloodborn in future chapters of the codex.

My take on what’s a Scion(ess) is a person with psychic abilities.
S
A Scion’s wish would make his allies stronger.
Voilà

I disagree. On the same flavour text that states that she was artificially created it states that she was the first true Scion in centuries. Thus, Scion = advanced Vetruvian sapient android, at least IMO.

But I do suspect all Scions have strong psychic abilities.
