Kongregate support removed
Excuse me for my ignorance, but what is Kongregate, and what are the consequences?
It’s like steam but for usually free and online games. This just adds to the Duelyst is dying conspiracy and removes a platform for people to play on.
Well, that’s certainly disappointing then.
The fact that you did not even know what the platform was in the first place, shows what relevance it served the the game as a whole.
This is like people doomsaying when batllefly removed tournament support when tournaments havent been able to garner any real audience for well over a year anyway.
I knew that the platform existed and new what it is but I had to check what it is quickly as it has been awhile.
I’m not doomsaying. Still, more platforms means more potential newcomers, so it’s disappointing.
This was know before the battle fy announcement and is only popping up now that’s how meaningless it is to the community at large. It is negative change but has little effect overall

This was actually done due to new legal requirements from the EU region, “GDPR”. Which is why most of you suddenly received a bunch of new Privacy Policy Updates from all of your online accounts a few weeks ago.
Unfortunately, it was not possible to maintain Duelyst on Kongregate once this new law came into effect. We notified the Community there on Kong before removing the game, and the fine people at Kongregate also helped us to migrate users who wished to continue to play to the Duelyst/BNEA platform before removing Duelyst from Kongregate.
Most of the players there were successfully migrated, and are still playing.

This is exemplary communication and outstanding management of the problem.
That’s old news anyways… found out about that weeks ago. That nobody even mentioned it on Reddit or here just tells you how important Kongregate was.
kongregate is like… newgrounds. its a place for flash games and it’s a dead site and links to several crappy online games. why cpg decided to stoop so low is a mystery to me tbh. im glad it’s gone.
tbh, all these partnerships are pointless. just frikken go mobile. sure the market there is saturated, but not the CCG side of it
