Kara Embla Wall deck

Played against this deck. I personally thought the rejuvenator was mediocre and thought a shroud would’ve been better, though that might involve slotting in artifacts to reach its full potential.

I remember playing against and losing to this deck. I just want OP to know that I will have my vengeance, in this life of the next. (But preferably this life)

Looks annoying enough  try fitting 3 crystal wisps in mate, to pull Embla out as soon as you want

Thanks guys. I’ll try the wisps out.

The deck in the image is exactly the Gricher-Deck (card by card).
So what exactly is your own idea?
I don’t think it’s good behaviour taking an other persons deck and implying you have something to do with it.

Grinch’s deck is fine as is, if it needed change he would make that change. No offense, but the forums won’t have any advice on how to improve a top tier player’s deck, which is probably as refined as it gets.

The reason why Grinch (and myself) dislikes Wisps is because they’re useless in the lategame, which is what you’re trying to get to, and not even that useful in the early game since you aren’t trying to ramp Embla out you’re trying to control the midgame so you can get the big endgame combos off.

The good thing about that is : there is a video with comment and match related to it

Pro tip : avoid starting a thread when you just net deck. There is always an existing thread created by the original creator, would be smarted to use this one. In your case, here : https://www.reddit.com/r/duelyst/comments/5tn90n/grincherz_deck_tech_5_kara_embla_wake/

I know - I’ve seen the video some days ago…

that quote doesn’t imply any changes were made nor did I claim any part of it as my original idea. My source was correctly sited. I also said that I started playing recently so I wanted to get ideas from players with more experience and knowledge of cards that I haven’t seen yet.

Great! Thanks!

It makes sense but I still wanted to ask. I didnt know there was a thread for the videos top players make. I’m still new to this game. I’m winning about 50% of my matches but im sure that’s because of player experience rather than the deck. Thanks for the advice.

I could be mistaken, but I think Grinch’s deck is not in a definitive version yet (and might never be with the ever-changing meta). Yesterday, for instance, I remember seeing him changing the Tigers on the list for Sojourners and he’ll probably make even more changes the more he plays with it.

Now, about the Crystal Wisps, their point is really ramping, which is a completely different gameplan then Grinch’s deck has right now. If @archlord opts for running them, he should get rid of the more aggressive minions and substitute them for more stalling tools, so that he can can keep the board under control until Jax or Embla comes into play, and from there onwards he should be able to keep pressuring the opponent with more late game cards. In that case, the wisps ramping can help accelerating the game towards his late game, which will probably be stronger than his opponent’s.

100% my opinion too. In other card games games if you play a Mana ramping thing it will often draw you a card if you are at full mana so that it isn’t useless.

Wisp is inconsistent. You will want to run 3X so that you have a good chance of getting them early game but if you draw it after like the 3rd or 4th turn or so you aren’t going to want to play it.

AND THEN since you are playing a control deck, your games will last longer than usual. Instead of the game ending on 7 or 8 Mana almost every game will last some turns after 9 Mana. Drawing it sucks and you don’t want to have to waste your replaces on it.

Has anyone extensively tested the deck? It looks bad to me, I wonder how it can reliably hit the late game in the current aggressive meta…

@tsevech I’m having a lot of success with a similar deck, but with wisps and stall instead of the aggressive early game (also herald instead of rejuv). 12-0 in mid/top diamond so far…

It actually has really good stall potential early, due to gravity well. I’ve played against a few people who ran this, including Grinch, and at the end of the day, the strength of this deck lies in frostburn being so powerful as a board clear… Good minions often sit at odd health numbers, and frostburn can clear small minions as well as allowing cards like spelljammer and silverguard knight to get within the range to get killed with a general attack.

Interesting, do you mind sharing the deck? I’d like to test it out, though I’m certainly not as good as you

That’s the list I’m running:

By the way, I’m not that good, it’s the archetype that is quite strong right now.

PS: Sometimes I cut 1 Jax and 1 Razorback for 2 Winter’s Wake

I’m surprised more people didn’t start playing it earlier tbh. It does help that gaze got nerfed. Then again, it is pretty expensive, too.

I have all the cards except Winter’s Wake. It is a legendary and extraordinarily situational so I can’t bring myself to craft it. I don’t think I will get to try this deck out anytime soon.
