Nice ! With that trick we are now aware that Duelyst is probably dying in some ways, every month, since release, thanks
So basicly
,Some things are unbalanced but they are better not touched because CP is too incompetent to make good balancechanges,?
Should a player realy accept a devs incompetence like that?
If Duelyst ist dying, I would really like to know what alternatives there are.
I’m looking, after 3000 games it would be nice to play somthing else once in while.
But sofar I found duelyst more engaging and tactical than all it’s competitors.
The only thing that sucks imo is, that duelyst is too expensive for a beginner.
The alternative is shardbound
I almost went to that during vanarcyst format.
I played during that, I played mech dance of memes during the end and burn horn at the start.
What’s shardbound like? Is it any good perhaps better than duelyst?
It’s a game that is played by people that enjoy Vanarcanyst on Duelyst.
nuff said
Similar to duelyst but the battle fields are different functionally and there is raised platforms. That’s shard bound at its most simple sence… But last time I checked they don’t have a lot of finished sprites.
Did you think the game was better than duelyst or were you just trying to find shelter from the meta at the time?
Trying to find shelter.
like you, i’ll keep playing while it lasts and while i’m enjoying
did the same with Vs System before Upper Deck pulled the plug (though i still have my Curve Sentinels deck and would play my buddy’s Teen Titans deck anytime for old time’s sake)
Well what choice do we have? Whether we like what the devs do or not, the choices are play or don’t play. My choice is play, at least for now.
It’s different, whether it’s better is a matter of taste.
Shardbound has much more tactical depth than Duelyst thanks to Lines of Sight, High Ground and generally more complex maps. It’s card design is also different, every unit and card has severe limitations, there aren’t any global AOEs for example, you have AOE but all have conditions of some sort. There is also less hard removal and the few hard removals are comparatively much worse than in Duelyst. Dark Transformation would be the best spotremoval in Shardbound. Because of all that the focus lies more on actual combat between units.
This kind of design also has downsides though, Shardbound is much slower than Duelyst. In more than 1,5 years of Duelyst i had 2 matches that went to fatigue, in Shardbound, especially in the beginning, i had that much more often. If the opponent plays defensively and you don’t get the cards to break his defense the game can take a while.
All in all Shardbound is the better choice if your looking for a highly tactical and challenging game experience. If you look for something where you can quickly play some games after work without too much thought then Duelyst is the better choice. I usually play Duelyst during the week and Shardbound on the weekend because of that.
No, not dead.
Yes, declining.
Totally devs’ fault.
Will hardly get fixed, but can be circumvented/delayed with proper effort.
But CPG have made a very decent meta now, even if there are a few cards which are still offenders.
BN has yet to really uphold their end of the advertising bargain, as far as I know anyway; haven’t seen much evidence of their efforts, if they exist.
BN made a decent effort of blocking users out of the game and I expect them to continue in similar fasion.
Still, I consider it CPG’s fault as they should’ve given a better read to the agreement.
What’s the lowest S-Rank you gals are seeing these days? Like a year ago there were S-Rank gals lower than like S-Rank 588+. That was a pretty healthy amount o’ playahs. If it’s still somewhere in that neighborhood or better, then Duolist is almost certainly not “dying.”
Last month i made S-rank pretty late and started with a 5 games loss streak. I got in at S-107 and didn’t drop below S-110 despite 5 losses. I assume it was the lowest rank at that time. That was about 1 month ago so almost at the end of the season. I’d assume at season closing we had something around 150 S-rankers.
This isn’t the answer your looking for but it’s also not entirely a fair indicator of the overall game health.
I’ll be brutally honest, the S rank population was obliterated from December onwards, either via the terrible competitive meta’s that followed it or the perceived lack of interest by CPG in the health of it’s competitive scene. If any division has been hit the hardest, it’s the top of ladder, as can be seen by the slowdown, for lack of a better term, in competitive content.
That said, S rank does not necessarily depict the overall picture % wise as a lot of old regulars have left since then and it’s hard to make up that type of experience gap considering some of them have been at it since Beta.
