I understand we just had a patch and suggestions are easy to give, hard to implement, however, please bear with me.
Consider the following points:
- The Duelyst community is highly competitive.
- Streamers are a fundamental part of any game’s community nowadays and benefit from attention.
- Streamers (and other people) play a lot and have tons of coin to spare.
- If you allow people to hoard indefinetely, you either ajust the prices up, or they’ll consume all the content on arrival.
Q: So, what’s the suggestion all about?
A: To allow players to create tournament lobbies in game by paying gold/spirit/cash.
Q: Why would I pay if I can just organize it elsewhere?
A: Because then they could be prized.
The idea is that a player (or any other player) could start a lobby by paying gold. This lobby could be either public or private (so the player can control who can join, in case of a streamer, probably only his viewers/VIP).
Ideally, the prize pool would be lower than simply buying orbs from the armory. We actually want to take gold out of the system. Even if the player is paying extra, the idea is that he is buying convenience in the organization of the tournament. As the patron, the player would get some visibility, this is good for a streamer.
A lot of streamers do giveaways, this is would essentially the same, and benefit all parties: The game benefits from the streamer farming gold by playing a lot, the players benefit from having regular community events in game with prizes and the streamer benefits from the visibility.
I understand this is no small feature, but I liked it so much I needed to write it down, thanks for the attention,
out.
