Immortal Vanguard - Deck Bazaar

Idea stolen borrowed from smogon forums.

With the release of immortal vanguards there is a need for a place to store decklists!

Here is for sharing your decklists with the forums and even for asking help on how to build in this meta!

Here are some rules though:

  • make sure your deck is tested! If you want your deck to be archived leave 3 replays. These decks could be considered resources so please test it before posting it. (please post your division as well)

  • Include a brief how to play and card choice section.

Archived Decks
Improbable Blob's finality vaath
Improbable Blob's Swarm Brome
Ryousen's Solo Vaath
Improbable Blob's Aggro Sajj

I don’t really know what to put here help me.

Edit: theorybuilding is also allowed

I feel like we should theory craft as well, and you can post the competitive/tested decks above

I’ll start it off! I’ve only tested this deck over about 4 matches, but oh boy am I in love. It’s won the magmar matchup 1 out of 2 times I’ve played it, and the second time I misplayed. Build minions are cheap enough to be playable against Magmar, as long as you keep Plasma Storm in mind.

Anyways, here we go. Bagoum isn’t updated yet, so deal with this.

Gateway Decklist

GateP1
GateP2
I know a curve that ends at 4 is weird for a control list, but games actually don’t go too late with this list. It has enough healing to deal with aggro and you can whip out a ton of damage with Talon and Desolator if you need to turn the tables, or if your opponent misplays.

Decklist code:
[vault only]MTozMDEsMzozNDEsMzozNTAsMzozNTMsMzoxMDk4MSwzOjExMDg0LDM6MTEwODgsMzoxMTEzNywzOjExMTM5LDM6MjAwNDksMzoyMDA1NywzOjIwMDU5LDM6MjAyMDEsMzoyMDMzNA==

I’m in love with this new card, and the draw doesn’t seem bad either. I’ll be perfecting this list, but it’s very solid as is. The main things to remember when playing it is to never build progress unless it actually finishes the building, and don’t forget about Plasma Storm.

I hope you guys find it as fun as I do!

I guess i shouldnt have tried to shoehorn in mechs in this deck

But i think i have a good ziran tempo list.
its gone 4-1 against 3 songhai, 1 vet and an abyssian and apart from the 1 lost game (which i tweaked since then) it won very easily though it could stand to use some tweaking as soon as i fill out my collection a bit more (get more sunstrikes)

as soon as i posted this deck here i started loosing hard

hmmm
maybe i should take it down until i have a completed version

I originally tried to shoehorn Variax in, but you just don’t have room for healing.

My testing for Eggmar, gone 4-1 with this:
General: Ragnora
-3x Flash Reincarnation
-3x Greater Fortitude
-3x Lava Lance
-3x Young Silithar
-3x Golem Metallurgist
-3x Cryptographer
-3x Embryotic Insight
-3x Ragebinder
-3x Primordial Gazer
-2x Progenitor
-2x Pupabomb
-3x Lavaslasher
-2x Plasma Storm
-3x Makantor Warbeast

I ranked from about Gold 7 to Diamond 5 (plus 3 wins) all in an 8 win-streak. I have not lost a single game with this deck, and I would say it is really refined (and really fun to play).

Decklist: [Brome Zoo zoo]MTo1MSwyOjI3LDM6MzQsMzo0MCwzOjQ4LDM6MTAwMTYsMzoxMDk3NSwyOjExMDIyLDM6MTEwODMsMzoxMTA5OCwzOjE5MDM4LDM6MjAwNjcsMjoyMDE2MSwzOjIwMjMyLDM6MjAyNzQ=

How to Play

Will update soon, it takes me a while to figure out how to word these things.

I’m thinking about maybe swapping Trinity Oath for Fealty, but I’ve had such a great success with this zoo Brome build. Even though I only added Surgeforger, it in combination with Auroara can get you a lot of stacked win conditions. Surgeforger, Warblade, and Empyreal Congregation also work really well in tandem to make you smaller minions jacked as well. I’ve gotten a lot of crazy T1 and T2 plays with this deck as player 2, and so many concedes due to how strong you can build your board in such little time.

repost for viability

Cruised to S with this (not saying much considering usual post expac memery.

The idea was to pair Thunderhorn/Deciptibot with huge tempo plays in conjunction with Assassination Protocol. The real star interaction is how you can only run a specif selection of mechs (in this case S.I.L.V.E.R.) to manipulate always pulling him. How this plays out is you usually not only destroy your opponents board but also end up summoning a “free” 7/5 that very same turn, which is absurd for any deck to really come back from that early in the game.

Combined with general Zendo and other midrange plays this is a very solid Midrange Tempo deck with a ridiculous game swinging combo thrown in for good measure.

TLDR Bot+Protocol Gives Songhai the ability to Lava Slasher on 5 mana and then summon another Slasher for free while they Slasher you…

oh boy, here i go killing again.

after the last exp. left them in the dust i’m happy to announce - a stun/infiltrate deck (still in early stages)

the idea is this - use aos + thunder for a heavy removal.
use hydrogarm + bbs for a massive stun —> go for artifact and more removel

your wincon is tricky either one of your big dudes is buffed and ready or vespyr -->iceblade --> frostfire/wailing (depends on the situation).

important tools - aurora. gravity well.

as for now - the deck s lacking but consistent enough to stand on ladder in diamond (won 4, lost 2), i will keep on fixing it an re-post the result.
one thing to remember - vanar decks use to be hard to master, and this one is no exception.

Ive thought of sucha list for a long time but just have not enough experience to make such a deck without taking a serious beating while doing so…gonna try out, thanks

This expansion made all my Magmar dreams come true

I had happy thoughts at the sight of Rebutal and Upper Hand- “I can finally fine tune and bring my solo Vaath closer to reality!” But then I saw Saurian Finality, and my state evolved from exited to holy shit!!!
In the past I have made proto-solo Vaath decks, and this follows the same idea- Control with spells and punch with your overloaded fists- and Vanguards gave me more of everything than I could ask for, and then a piece of god for 7 mana

I maintain the stun kit (tremor + brutality, theyre so good) to gain time, now not just to wait for Plasmastorm, but also to get more out of Rebutal and Iridian Scale (which combos well with Dampening Wave). Upper Hand is Natural Selection 2.0, especially since the deck carries exclusively symmetrical draw. We can afford to use only two Plasmastorms because of Rebutal, and two Spheres because of Finality
Tracer to chase them down when all else fails, and Lavaslasher is just great everywhere
Oh yeah, and there’s Lava Lance, to ping those eggs and whatnot

I am impressed at the frequence of beauty in my games with this list

Hey, I’ve been thinking about how this deck wants to work and I’m really liking it. In a pinch a void talon and timekeeper on the same turn are basically six rush damage, right? And is the purpose of darkfire sacrifice here to power out the gate a turn early? I’d like to hear more about how this all runs.

Hoo boy, I want to try this one out. I was going to ask if that was enough draw with so many cheap cards to burn, but then this deck kills people in a hurry, I’m guessing, so probably moot point. This looks scary. And saurian finality is a nucking futs card, but I think even more so than usual here.

Edit: Lava lance is just here as true strike, right? Possibly related note, if the Magmar courts required you by law to stick three Makantor warbeasts in here, what would you take out, and how badly do you think it’d hurt the deck?

currently I have got 2 decks, first is keeper vaath which I am at 12-2 with at the moment. Playing this style of deck is wierd, as you have no early game, and have to comback pretty much every game, but your 5+ mana turns are very often insane. Unless you get comboed on, you will win lategame.

second is swarm brome, which got me easily to s. It took a little bit to get used to playing this deck, but the esential components are fealty (which is insane) and any of the buffs, if you don’t draw them then it is really easy to get blown out by aoe and have nothing to come back with. When it goes off, it goes off hard, and there are so many different ways to do it that you are very consistant with getting many bodies on the board.

I tested it myself a bit and have come to 2 conclusions:
-Fealty is much MUCH better draw in this deck(no trinity needed
-Fealty is so good that you don,t even need spelljammer with it

Absolutely. Crypto keeps wraithlings on the board for DFS and Velumscry, tons of healing to outdo aggro.

The best part of this deck is how much damage you can pull out of nowhere. They’re trying to put pressure on you but oops they walked into a Void Talon, now you can Desolator DFS Desolator and hey, they’re dead!

I need to do some more playtesting because my plays have been pretty garbage, but I think the deck has potential. We’ll see.

Oh hey, repulsor beasts! Haven’t seen the little guys in a while! Looks like they make a lot of sense here. Send a threat to Antarctica, add a critter to the swarm, make your auroara scarier. Hey, if minions enter the battlefield with two or less base attack, but already having three or greater because of a zeal effect, auroaras don’t power up, right? Just checking.

This whole mess looks like it gets a lot of milage out of empyreal congregation. What do you typically do with magnetize?

I’m glad to hear that! I’ll add 3 Fealty right away then! This’ll also give me more space to try out other cards for the list, like Shiro Puppydragon.

I would categorize Magnetize as a combination of a tech tool and a personal preference. Magnetize is really flexible in helping you get backline threats, but my primary use of it is to bring minions close to my general for burst. I tend to place threats that can get out of hand (Surgeforger and more commonly Auroara) in safer positions to help protect them from enemy answers, so Magnetize allows me to bring them up close just in time to cash in it’s damage.

Regarding the interaction with zeal minions, if you place Silverguard Knight, Windblade Adpet, or Second Sun outside of zeal range (not next to your general) Auroara will be buffed. If you place it next to your general (and hence summon them while activating zeal), Auroara will not be buffed.
