Ideas to improve my Forcefield Lyonar deck?

Sunbreaker replaces bbs as long the ability is up.
Azurite Lion doesn’t synergize with prism barrier is perhaps his reason.

I’d like to put more Nightwatchers as it often gets removed against Mag/Vet, and they compliment into the forcefield spam. Also, Afterblaze might be swapped with Trinity Oath for redrawing options. Fiz doesn’t look sound in this kind of deck, I’d run Healing Mystic instead in terms of not being a battlepet, if you really insist on healing. Else go with Lion, it synergizes extremely well with primus fist.

Sunbreaker isn’t an opening gambit, so it does not permanently replace your BBS (although it’d probably be stronger if it did).

Also, no need to worry about running out of steam when you have a high curve.

Seriously, just put in a few Trinity Oaths and Spelljammers. They are never wrong.

I think I will go with Lion, thanks.
But If I replace Afterblaze then I don’t have any damage buffing option.

I might try a sunbreaker deck next season. But it would include Arclyte Regalia to limit the self damage.

Specifically regarding this deck. I don’t know why you would play Fiz over Mystic. The one extra stat does nothing. You may want Mystic over Primus Fist, because you’re not necessarily looking to end the game early through aggression.

Every Lyonar deck plays 3x immo for a reason.

Your card draw relies on Aegis and Afterblaze which are limited in that they require a target. But you’re also playing fairly greedy, so maybe you don’t run out like Aggro lists. I really like Lkian in Argeon.

And I think you made many valid points. However, just for the sake of the argument, I want to point out why I made those choices:

  1. I agree with this, Lion is better than Fiz.
  2. I do have card draws, in the form of Aegis Barrier and Afterblaze. Granted, they are not as effective but I don’t find myself run out of steam often. But if I run Trinity Oath, which card should I replace? Would that make too many 4 drops?
  3. Everyone tends to focus on the cons of Sunbreaker but I use it as an emergency measure to clear the board AND I can put a 2/4 with forcefield on the board.
  4. I used Divine Bond at first but Devine Bond doesn’t buff HP, which make my forcefield minions easy to kill.

Can you explain what you mean by playing greedy though?

Making yourself more vulnerable earlier on to be able to ramp into a much, much more powerful midgame. It can either backfire very easily or flat out win you the game.

By playing greedy - I mean you have more greedy minions that demand your mana than a typical Argeon list. Because your minions require more mana, you’re likely to play fewer of them and so require less card draw.

Xhanx is right, and the point is that these higher cost minions are more capable of snowballing the game, it also makes you very vulnerable to efficient single target removal where they remove a full turn’s mana worth of a minion with about half that and create a blow out turn at which point you lose control of the board and it’s all downhill from there.

Card draw and 2 many 4 drops are ur weakness. Divine bond imo should be ur main finishing card.
Templar is a under used 2 drop which can be buffed and used as future dispell. Azure horn is another over Looked 2 drop but with this deck it’s hp can help ur other minions greatly.

Still have draw issues but adding trinity just adds to ur 4 drop problem. I would say soujorn but that could be taken out without it drawing a card for you.

There are lot ways to u can go with this heck you could use the air drop card has card replacement and having a minion be placed anywhere on the board.

Sunstone Templar is an interesting choice. Buff it with Prism Barrier and you have a infinite dispel tool. I’m gonna test this as well.
Lionheart Blessing is another card draw that nobody uses anymore, and I just realized that it adds Zeal to any minion which then can be buffed with Afterblaze for an extra card draw.

  1. concider dropping fizz and slo. You need to be able to complete for mana tiles and this isn’t agro deck, you don’t need to ramp holly immulation, that you have only 2 copies of.

  2. Get 3rd copy of holly immulation.

  3. get atleast 2 nightwatchers, if you giveup on rush minions, might use those to deal with magmar, abyssian (revenant shenanigans) and vetruvians. 1 copy is way too situational.

  4. get 2-3 bloodtears, you have no options to deal with artefacts or a stray bloodmoon priestess aside dispell and circle of life, it could be dangerous. Could be used to pop the forcefield of the opponent as well. Sunsteel is popular.

  5. drop aegis barrier, it’s a waste of slot since this isn’t a divine bond deck.

  6. you don’t have much heals, getting 3 trinity oath could help with that and get some draw for the deck. An other circle of life could be nice, aswell as 2 Regalias to preserve some health.

  7. get some azurite lions, they are great source of burst and could be a win condition.

  8. I would probably drop 1 prism barier and optionally 1 afterblaze. The first is situational and having 3 in hand would be awkward if you have no minions alive that could be buffed. Afterblaze is better but if you need slots 1 copy could go.

  9. ironcliff seems like it needs to go. It dies to plasma storm, without divine bond he isn’t a win condition and his attack isn’t too impressive if he gets dispelled. With sunbreaker you can’t even buff it with bbs. Elyx atleast has nice attack and usable ability so could be useful even after it gets dispelled.
    Could maybe get 2 dancing blades for extra removal and slightly more attack.

  10. 2 meltdowns could be an option, those have nice stats and are a win condition, something this deck seems to lack, could be nice to get a forcefield on those if they get dispelled.

Then you. Have about as many spells as minions which is risky. Those cards need minions on the field if ur opponent is taking out ur minons correctly those cards are dead in your hand. Wish I could test these out but I’m not at home.

You don’t have much provoke minions so wouldn’t get much synergy. Also with positioning i feel you can stick to the opponent quite well without it. Would be an overpriced primus shieldmaster pretty much.

Grandmaster zir is quite good and not played too much. Won me a couple of games when i got him from lkian. You could prebuf him with forcefield and bbs to get 7 attack forcefield and 12 hp general. Could be a fun deck to play…

Or maybe purgatos, serms like it would be good with forcefield on. Especially if you don’t mind none optimal deck.

Maybe some dieing wish synergy but i don’t think you have enough card slots to do it good.

Purgatos sounds like an awesome idea. And the minion fit perfectly with Lyonar thene, I can actually reskin it with Lyonar colors.
And 7/12 Zir sounds really fun, though I’m not sure the transition from minion to general would let it keep forcefield.

This is why I love Duelyst, outside meta, if you look hard enough there are many intetesting combos and synergies.

well it keeps the bbs buffs for sure, see no reason it wouldn’t keep the forcefield buff.

haven’t tested it though.

yeah many nice combos that you could do, the problem is you are limited on card slots in deck and need many answers so you don’t have much slots to play around with. that’s why potentially good cards end up not being played.

That’s why I play Duelyst for fun. I don’t care much about meta and laddering is not that important to me. I like to explore new possibilties and craft themed/fun decks rather than follow top-tier decklist.
