I never said Aymara was unfair, I said it was a powerhouse, every faction needs one, while I don’t agree with everybody on which cards are break the limit of powerhouse to be on the “op” criter, I think we can definitely agree on the fact that Aymara is one of Vet’s powerhouses if not the best…
How would you rank the factions from strongest to weakest / most popular to least popular
Thats why IM SO HYPED!
Even if you have no use for the opening gambit, it looks cool, and has the stats of a stable in faction 2-drop, equivalent to Windblade, Cloaker, Kaido, Young Silithar, 2/3 with a keyword
It also helps out a Zirix dervish-centric deck because the cost reduc can allow you to drop multiple Obelysks in one turn that you wouldn’t be able to now.
Blood Taura and Aymara Healer are good cards.
None of those are nearly consistently powerful enough to be OP. They are all situationally mediocre to very weak way too often. Their use case averages are solid, but they are not on the level of other factions’ OP cards. Vetruvian does not have some of the best late-game minions in the game, Magmar and Abyssian do.
Every time you can break mana rules without substantial sacrifices in resources, there is some potential for OPness, but we will have to see how good the new structures are and whether they can be used en masse with existing structures. The new 2/3 won’t have enough consistency to be OP with just complements of six structrures.
Vetruvians are certainly usable now; it takes a lot more than just a major imbalance to make a faction unusable. MECHAZ0R and post-BBS Owlbeast Sage shenanigans are always there as fallback buffers for major faction/General imbalances in Duelyst.
I am just going keep it moving if you dont think dom will and Amara arent really OP.I don’t know what else say.The difference between Magmar being the worse faction in the game is one card. The difference between Vet being the best faction to worse is one small change to its ability. It doesn’t take much to make a faction be unusable.
It is a BIG change instead of playing awful Pyromancer/ Dunecaster(or neutrals) on 2 to playing a minion that is actually pushing your agenda Obelysk.Going second a 2 wind slicer start is a free Etheral or 1 cost Fireblaze. The point is just that small change will allow consistently early game and it will make a big difference.
I think you mean “if you don’t think dom will and Amara are really OP,” not “aren’t,” because I obviously don’t think that Dominate Will and Aymara Healer are “really OP.”
Now, a per-use equivalent power level change to a BBS is obviously going to have a far greater effect on a faction’s power than a change to a faction card. You consistently “draw” your BBS by the end of the early game, and you are guaranteed to keep “drawing” your BBS again and again as the game progresses. Your total use case averages in games go way up when you have a better BBS. As I said in my previous reply, an OP BBS could easily be sufficient as Vetruvian’s share of OPness.
Your estimation of the WIndshroud change as “one small change” is puzzling.
In most of its use cases, the dervish does not survive an attack without getting Dunecastered anyway, so the ephemeralness change doesn’t move the needle all that much. Whereas losing Rush is the exact opposite of not moving the needle all that much: Makantor War666 is one of the most OP cards in Duelyst. If you remove Rush from it, it immediately goes from one of the most OP cards in Duelyst to Astral Crusader level bad. Even for a mere card change, losing Rush would have been a ruinous nerf. It wasn’t a mere card change; it was a BBS change.
That is a gigantic change in power, not a small one.
Post-Vetruvian-OPness-removal pre-BBS, Vetruvian was the worst faction until it got an OP BBS to compensate for the lack of OPness in its cards. The result of nerfing the OP BBS to below mediocre should not come as a surprise.
